Triple Water Astrology – The Anaretic Degree! Sun in Taurus 2016 newsletter

Another zodiacal month begins! The earthy, fixed energy of Sun manifesting in Venus’ first sign, Taurus, is now in force. The ingress chart is most fascinating, with an earthy grand trine among its characteristics. Mercury (commerce), Jupiter (expansion), and Pluto (power) interacting among each other in a harmonious, closed pattern is an opportunity not to be missed this month. The solid earthy grand trine contains possibilities for attaining material stability and increasing wealth, inter alia. If North Node is included in the pattern, the pattern becomes a double earthy grand trine. With North Node included in the grand trine, forming alliances for future benefit becomes an added feature of it. Sun also forms an opposition to Apollon (Transneptunian) in the ingress chart, adding to the appealing ‘material increase’ theme.

Almost half of the planets are retrograde at the beginning of the month, including Mars and his overlord, Pluto, having recently gone retrograde. Jupiter square Saturn (‘controlled expansion’ through implementing effort) rounds out the retrograde list of planets. Jupiter will go direct this month, however, and Mercury will go retrograde. Among other effects, the staid grand earth trine will essentially remain intact all month! Sun and Venus will also connect with the grand trine pattern at various times this month. This year of Sun in Taurus is definitely a time for paying attention to practical matters, becoming grounded and focused, caring for details, finding efficiencies and being productive, and using the fixed endurance of Sun in Taurus, along with the other earthy influences, to achieve what you want or need to. The grand trine suggests that a certain flow or ease will be attached to the earthy theme. Imagine the possible results of industrious, persistent efforts applied during this month of earthy grand trines!

Neptune is the best candidate as an outlet for the earthy grand trines this month. Experiencing the material – a necessary part of our existence – has an outlet in experiencing spirituality. Sun, ruled by Venus, and Jupiter opposite Neptune – as well as the earthy influence implying a strong Saturnian vibe all month – combines several ways to access Neptune’s imagination and bliss. Neptune forms an exact harmonious aspect to Poseidon (Transneptunian), creating a potent theme of ‘spiritual insight’ throughout the month. Planets hitting 11 degrees of their signs this month have additional possibilities, with connections to both Neptune and Poseidon. For example, a key date is Sun at 11 Taurus on April 30, a theme of using creativity to induce intuitive clarity.

Let’s see what else this month might bring, via the heavens.

Finance

The markets are pushing towards record highs again. Jupiter will start operating in his more normal mode, while Mercury will act in extremes, due to each changing their motion. Will the markets shrug off the supernal influences? Talk of negative interest rates, a volatile oil market, Asian economies facing crisis, the usual banter about the Middle East, and other worries seem to be pushing markets up! Excitement seems to be brewing this month (and excitement is not necessarily good for investors who prefer certainty).

Based on more personal concerns, Sun in Taurus is probably the best month out of the year to build wealth. Working overtime, starting a side business, and deciding whether to consolidate or expand based on your judgment regarding finances is generally attuned to Sun in Taurus. Mercury will be retrograde throughout the month, but he is in the Taurus sign. To me that suggests consolidation over expansion. Expansion is certainly still possible and might be a better choice, based on your personal situation. If you sign a contract or purchase a large ticket item (buying a home, land, or other property is definitely Sun in Taurus – a concrete purchase that sets foundations), be absolutely certain of what you’re buying or signing. Due diligence is absolutely called for, and it might help you uncover bargains, or negotiate a better deal. Moon in Taurus this month, joining with the multiple grand trine pattern, feels right for making purchases, even with Mercury retrograde. May 6 is a peak day for many reasons with Moon in Taurus, and generally timing purchases to that day might work well for you. Moon in the earthy signs is also reasonably good this month for purchases; two additional key dates consist of April 27 and May 14.

Career

The feeling of being able to accomplish a fair amount of work independently characterizes the transits until Venus enters Taurus on April 29. You might find that Moon in the earth signs this month is particularly productive, and in fact all month seems reasonably productive. Persistence is the key for this month. I really like the idea of steady, hard work, even if the gains aren’t immediate or seem grandiose, due to the tight Jupiter-Saturn square. The “controlled expansion” theme works well with Sun in Taurus, due to the idea of working on foundations and applying steady effort move closer to goals – even slightly closer. Vesta (asteroid lady) is part of the grand trine patterns for most of the month. Also of interest, she changes signs several days before Sun enters Gemini. Making the effort to find dependable people to work with can help push goals farther, which is usually true but especially true this month. If someone tells you that they admire your dedication this month, you’re definitely latching onto the Vesta vibe! Focusing on producing tangible results is front and center this month.

Mercury indeed is retrograde for most of the month, but his role in the earthy grand trines is an opportunity not to pass up. He makes an odd angle to Zeus (Transneptunian) from about May 11 to May 14, which strikes me as a window of time that is “super-productive” and has possibilities for being able to quickly adjust and apply creativity in order to meet goals. May 6 and 7 are something to the same effect with Sun making the same aspect to Zeus on those days. The Saturn-Jupiter-Neptune mutable t-square also suggests some adaptability, and that authority will be less influential. That may actually be more difficult than it sounds, as structure is often useful. It counters the Sun in Taurus and earthy influences somewhat, in that direction may not be so clear with Neptune in his home sign in tension with Saturn retrograde, in Jupiter’s sign. Mars will drift away from a conjunction with Saturn as the month progresses, but they will be conjunct by sign all month. I have the impression that combining discipline with activity, in order to achieve lofty objectives, is very hit and miss this month! Therefore having a plan that helps you hit on all cylinders can be useful. Calibrating efforts is important (Mars-Saturn both retrograde and conjunct), in addition to having so many earthy influences that are more generically suggesting just a lot of ‘effort’.

I also like April 26 and 27, and May 6 and 7 for showing leadership, producing high-quality work, and dealing with superiors. That May 6 date repeats, making it a very key date this month for work and career, and overall I believe the mutable t-square is saying that if you can be flexible in meeting challenges, a decent amount of productivity, and hopefully the commensurate rewards, are in store for this month.

Spirituality

This month reminds me of devotional objects (statues, relics and icons, paintings, and other tangible items) in terms of spirituality. Neptune as the outlet of the earthy grand trines, approximately, is a large part of this impression. Poseidon is also active this month. He symbolizes enlightenment, as the slowest moving of the hypothetical Transneptunians. (He is the last step on the evolutionary scale created by the planets and eight Transneptunians.) Poseidon’s influence pertaining to Neptune is most interesting, as Poseidon can help to lift Neptune’s fog. Thus “true understanding” regarding spiritual concepts is a strong theme this month. As I mentioned in the opening, one way to pursue spiritual clarity this month is to find ways to become grounded. The charts are literally saying this. The duality of the material and the spiritual, alluded to in the opening comments, is an amazing reflection of Pluto’s slow trek through the Capricorn sign. Pluto, perhaps surprisingly, might be an intriguing way to reach Neptune this month. Pluto orbits beyond Neptune – but during a brief time in his orbit, he is closer to the Sun than Neptune. Finding tangible ways to evolve can lead to Neptune’s bliss, if the symbolism of Pluto holds. Can Neptune and Pluto work together, creating a theme of “spiritual evolution” this month? Pluto is a bit outside of orb to a sextile with Neptune this month, but perhaps the symbolism can hold. How might you transform and change, through attention to the details of your life, and thinking about your experience as a material being, as a way to access Neptune’s spirituality this month?

Moon in Pisces, based on the previous comments, might be stronger than usual this month. May 2 is the strongest, because Moon will act as an outlet for the earthy grand trines for several hours, while she is conjunct Neptune. I have natal Moon in Pisces. Moon in Pisces symbolizes the unconscious need to connect with the source. She is watery/emotional and mutable/adaptable in the last sign of the zodiac. Endings, transcendence, idealism, and imagination all act as an outlet for the strong earthy energies this month with Moon in Pisces. It gives the image of a beautiful sculpture, painting, a musical score, or some other tangible part of experiencing art. Wrapping up a cycle in your life or work, large or small, can be well timed around May 1 and 2. May 1 falls on a Sunday, but whether or not you practice a traditional religion that is a powerful time this month for spiritual experiences.

Relationships

Cupido (Transneptunian – marriage, togetherness, community) is retrograde all month, and starts the month just inside of the 26th degree of Sagittarius. Cupido’s conjunction to the Galactic Center fades as the month progresses, but is still something to be enjoyed. The Cupido-Galactic Center conjunction is a theme of ‘larger purpose’ and feeling connected to individuals, as well as larger groups, and even to all of humanity! Harmony and the enjoyment of the company of anyone with a common link (at the same company, from the same city) gives a more big picture type of flow to Cupido’s manifestation this month. Certainly marriage and family benefits from Cupido’s place in late Sagittarius this month. Juno (asteroid lady) is also retrograde throughout the month, and she draws closer to the beginning of Scorpio by the month’s end. She aspects Hades (Transneptunian) from about May 5 to 14. Examining the details of close relationships, or re-examining them, might be necessary this month, especially during those dates. While it can be unpleasant, doing so might finally resolve lingering issues. May 5-14 is in the thick of Mercury retrograde, which can create a few land mines if past muck arises. Thus it’s important to make sure that what is communicated in close relationships, in particular during May 5-14, is not misunderstood. Pallas (asteroid lady – creative intelligence) helps to form a watery grand trine with Hades and Juno starting on May 11. This brief window of about three days is an opportunity to see the entirety of an issue, in addition to the details, and apply new ideas to understanding a difficult situation, and using intuition (water/Pisces) in order to solve problems. On the brighter side, Hades’ symbolism involves past lives and an alchemy type theme. Hades-Juno, and later Pallas, can give insight into close relationships, and how both people can evolve, or perhaps how two individuals combine to create a ‘unit’ as a couple that is completely new. I would say the potential for learning outweighs the more unpleasant side of the pattern.

Venus is conjunct Uranus at the beginning of the month. Relationships in general, therefore, can feel a bit disruptive or unpredictable, and a bit more individualistic. On the other hand, spontaneity and new ideas help move relationships along, until Venus enters Taurus on April 29. Venus in Taurus is aesthetic, practical, and gives a sense of “increasing returns” regarding collaboration (e.g., one person can produce two units in an hour, but two people working together can produce eight units in an hour). This obviously suggests opportunities for productivity through cooperation, for either personal or professional benefit. Venus does not start to conjunct Mercury until about May 5. The temptation is to characterize Mercury conjunct Venus this month as “communication problems in relationships”, but I think much more can be said about the conjunction, and it doesn’t even automatically suggest communication problems. Venus is stronger by sign. Thinking and communicating in depth with other people is characteristic of Mercury retrograde conjunct Venus in Taurus. Collaborative intellectual problem solving can also be effective, if a patient, step-by-step method is implemented. While you might have to backtrack (Mercury retrograde), carefully working through missteps can give a level of quality that might be higher than without the Mercury retrograde influence. A more deliberative pace fits both Taurus and Mercury retrograde; and Mercury retrograde in Taurus, considered in that light, can be of benefit in effectively dealing with various relationships.

May 10 shows Venus forming an exact trine to Jupiter. Sun and Mercury join in the earthy grand trine pattern on that day. This is perhaps the strongest day of the month for relationships. One way to approach May 10 would be to simply enjoy the company of other people. Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac, reminds us that steady, hard work is necessary, after the initial excitement of initiating a new project or relationship happens, which is symbolic of the Aries energy. Taurus is also ruled by Venus, a reminder that we can enjoy the company of other people, appreciate nature, and partake in the material rewards of labor. Venus is also about balance. Finding fulfillment and meaning through work, as well as enjoying the niceties in life, seems to be a worthwhile philosophy to consider. In that sense, I hope that you find both enjoyment and fulfillment this month, through your work, relationships, and other areas of life.

Happy solar return to friends with natal Sun in Taurus, and see you next month. Mike

Triple Water Astrology – The Anaretic Degree! Sun in Aries 2016 newsletter

As I look back at the 2015 Sun enters Aries newsletter, I am realizing how much effort has gone into the past year, regarding my practice. The entire year has been about the weekly horoscope (which I recently discontinued), doing minireadings, and finding clients who wish to consult me via a paid reading, along with plenty of other miscellaneous activities and ideas in pursuit of my interest in astrology and building an astrology practice. This new zodiacal year begins for me with finally writing a book. It’s going to be an awesome book, designed for anyone with an interest in astrology. It will be directed towards a technique that is suitable for beginners as well as more advanced students and practitioners to consider. Astrology has a huge unfilled market regarding books covering more advanced topics, in my view. Introductory type books are necessary, but the market is probably well saturated with them. Everyone is publishing a book these days, but mine will be worth buying because it will give a useful means to accessing a powerful, yet simple, technique, that can be immediately applied, and give greater insight to one’s own chart, or any chart.

In the interests of helping to fund the costs of the book, I am offering paid minireadings again (no future trends) for $5, and a three page reading, with future trends, on sale for $19. I’ve been asked about tutoring, reading at parties, and I certainly am capable of teaching classes. Please don’t hesitate to call or email if my astrology can help fill various needs in your life. More details are on my web site.

Every year I look at the Sun enters Aries ingress chart to forecast the year ahead. The zodiacal year begins when Sun enters Aries, an entirely new yearly cycle in the zodiac. Having a feel for the yearly chart can help you plan for the next twelve months. I suggest ignoring the angles, as they will differ around the world, although you might find it of benefit to look at the ingress angles based on your location on March 20, 2016 (for those further west, including myself, late on March 19). For example, the angles in the ingress chart show ascendant in Scorpio and Leo Midheaven, in Omaha. Exactly my natal placements! You may also find Lot of Fortune, Vertex, and other points useful in the chart cast for your city. I do not cover houses or such points in this general forecast, however.

The idea of free will very much enters the picture with this forecast, and frankly with any kind of observations and predictions I make. We have no choice regarding the positions of the planets, but we do have a wide latitude in regards to how to react to their energies (or better, knowing in advance where the planets will be, and how to proactively work to maximize our efforts and make the best choices based on the archetypes and influences). Thus I express my best wishes for this year for you, and hope that the efforts you make return the best results, with the heavens as a guide.

Elements

A striking feature of the ingress chart is the amount of planets in the fire (five planets) and water (three planets) signs, with Jupiter and Pluto in earth signs and the chart void air. While any number of objects in the vast solar system reside within each element, the three air signs, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, seem a bit starved for oxygen, with only Pallas and Zeus among the major planets, objects, and points that I generally use, residing in air signs. The water signs are very busy, with several heavy hitters in water signs in the ingress chart, including South Node conjunct Chiron in Pisces, and three of the “Great Eight” (hypothetical Transneptunians) in the Cancer sign, along with two more in Scorpio. Water dominates fire, and the elemental theme this year is largely one of feeling and intuition, melding with action, energy, and competition.

Mars is widely conjunct Saturn, in Sagittarius. That is reasonably indicative of the general fiery quality of the ingress chart for this year, creating a theme of using disciplined will, drive, and assertive qualities in order to expand your interests. Moon (water) in late Leo (fire) is a splendid symbol of the water and fire elements that are representative of this year. Moon in Leo emphasizes creative efforts that are more instinctive and intuitive in nature. Leo Moon also has an idealistic type of determination to finish what was started, and win in competitive situations. Moon is forming a fiery grand trine with Saturn and Uranus. Moon and Saturn are a planetary pair. Both have an affinity for the past. Uranus can also symbolize the past, but he is also future-oriented. Sharp conflicts emerge among the three planets, paradoxically flowing in a fiery circuit of energy in the chart. Saturn restricts, but Uranus wants to break free. Activity is more oriented towards the past, but Uranus likes to innovate and use new ideas. Therefore activity and energy seems to be best applied through taking the past into careful consideration, while applying novel ideas and knowledge in order to create something new. Pallas and Zeus are rough outlets for the fiery grand trine, indicating that activity this year has two convenient outlets, in achieving major goals and being very productive and industrious (Zeus), as well as attaining thoughtful insights and new creative ideas (Pallas).

The watery side of the chart is also of interest, with Venus in her exaltation closely conjunct her spiritual teacher, Neptune, in his home sign of Pisces. Mercury is the third planet residing in Pisces. Thought, information gathering and analysis, and networking have an imaginative quality about them, mixed with foresight if you manage to find a way to tap that quality with Mercury in Neptune’s sign. Mercury in Pisces adds to the spiritual feel of the chart as well. Venus is empathetic and compassionate in the Pisces sign, and she has direct access to Neptune’s bliss via the close conjunction. Relationships and collaborative efforts take on a more intuitive and perhaps spiritual feel, and use of imagination while interacting with other people is another strong quality of Venus-Neptune this year. The pair forms strong trines to Juno in Scorpio. Juno in Scorpio is something to the effect of “intense close relationships”, and she has a very transformative and power-oriented type of feel in marriage and close relationships. Therefore all types of relationships have a Neptunian feel this year, providing inspiration, containing a sense of shared idealism (or perhaps conflicting idealism; the trine and conjunction aspects tend to smooth out conflicts however), and perhaps generating shared visions of spirituality or other matters. “Spiritual nurturing and healing” definitely enters the picture this year with Ceres conjunct Chiron in Pisces. A significant amount of past karma (South Node) and thought (Mercury) accompanies the Ceres/Chiron theme.

Jupiter and Pluto, both in earth signs, form a strong trine. I really like the Jupiter/Pluto theme, “expanding power”. In this case, the expanding power theme is largely centered on work and career, but might be applied to any area of life. North Node in Virgo joins with the Jupiter-Pluto trine. The North Node influence indicates that thought and effort given to advancing work and career probably will be time and energy well spent. Focusing on developing and using perspectives, while paying attention to both the details of various issues along with the big picture, is a rather abstract theme but fits the Jupiter-Pluto trine well if you can manage to apply it to your personal situations. An example might be finding ways to improve a process in your job function in order to move closer to an area that you want to work in.

A chart void an element is nothing to lament, but a void air chart somewhat de-emphasizes socializing, communication, learning simply for its own sake, and purely cognitive and abstract types of activity. Certainly all of this will happen over the course of a year, but being geared firstly towards action and competition, then towards attention to the more feeling and emotional side of life, and thirdly, the material, realistic, and detailed, is strongly indicated by the ingress chart. The challenge this year will be finding a balance among all of the elements, with almost all of the planets in water and fire signs.

Patterns

By far and away, the Jupiter-Saturn-Venus/Neptune mutable t-square pattern steals the show. Neptune is the cornerstone of the pattern, although Saturn is at the focal point of the t-squares. Neptune in his home sign, and as part of the t-squares, places additional emphasis on spirituality during the zodiacal year. Neptune can be indeed a difficult planet. Escapes, addictions, and delusions are definitely part of his symbolism. Yet, the other planets are giving opportunities to access his better qualities – through doing the difficult, necessary work. Amazingly, the three planets that offer most direct access to Neptune are aspecting him via the t-square! Venus’ harmony leads to Neptune’s bliss (recall that the two are a planetary pair); Jupiter’s religious rituals, higher-minded and abstract qualities, and expansion help to reach Neptune’s spirituality; and Saturn’s discipline and structure give form to Neptune’s ethereal qualities. Separating the planets and pairing them with Neptune helps to develop useful themes regarding Neptune, although the planets still need to be considered as part of the overall pattern. Jupiter expands; Venus is collaboration; and Saturn is restriction. The Saturn-Neptune square sounds tough – and it is. Yet, this is probably the most useful pair in the pattern if a person is willing to give the effort. Saturn-Neptune contains a theme of making your dreams (Neptune) into a reality (Saturn) given the effort (square aspect). It would appear that imagination and creativity (Neptune) are restricted (Saturn) at first glance. The opposite is the case. Applying a predetermined set of rules to creativity helps it to flourish. The mutable/flexible quality of the signs in the t-square is also conducive to creativity. Thus the fiery/watery combination of the ingress chart is reflected by Saturn in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces, and the two planets suggest that taking action and working to meld it with watery inspiration can be very productive this year.

Jupiter is reasonably compatible with Neptune. Jupiter is out of place in Virgo and he struggles to keep pace with Neptune in his dominion, with Neptune definitely the stronger of the two. Jupiter in Virgo tends to avoid excess, however, and he is still Jupiter. The Jupiter-Neptune opposition creates a theme of “expanding spirituality”, and the two roughly conjunct the Moon’s Nodes/karmic axis in the ingress chart. Thus the expanding spirituality theme might be considered this year in the context of looking at your past, as well as towards the future, in developing your spirituality, applying imagination to work, and in being of service to other people. Venus and Neptune form a conjunction, and this creates a relatively obvious, and powerful, theme of spiritual unity with other people. Forming partnerships helps a person to touch spirit and reach a greater collective.

The entirety of the t-squares has a very Jupiterian feel: Jupiter is part of the pattern; Saturn is in Jupiter’s sign; and Venus and Neptune are in Jupiter’s classical dominion, Pisces. Saturn also has his say, as the focal point of the pattern, and with the t-square, as the name suggests, involving the aspect affiliated with Saturn, the square. While Jupiter’s abundance and Venus’ ease are part of the pattern, Saturn and the squares demand rigorous efforts. This leads to a discussion of one of my favorite themes, Jupiter and Saturn’s “controlled expansion” theme. I really love this theme, and it’s difficult to overemphasize how important this theme is for this zodiacal year. Small actions taken now can become hugely significant later. My best effort to explain this is through an analogy that you are likely familiar with. It’s likely an apocryphal story. A person requested payment from a king in the form of a grain of wheat (or rice) at the rate of one per day, counted in succession on an eight-by-eight chessboard – doubled each day. In other words, one grain on the first day, two on the second, four on the third, and so on. The “controlled expansion” theme is the power of compounding. This is the year to set a foundation! I certainly plan to take small actions today in the hope that they will exponentially compound in the future. Whether the image is something to the effect of mythical Hercules lifting a calf every day, and years later being able to lift a huge bull, or some other analogy, the idea is the same. Steady, determined, and seemingly trifling actions can really add up.

The fiery grand trine is worth mentioning again, given the remarks about the mutable t-squares. Saturn is both part of the grand trine, and he is also at the focal point of the t-squares. Saturn is in Jupiter’s sign, but he is still Saturn. Responding to authority and structure, being disciplined, giving attention to responsibilities, and focusing on work and the material is a strong theme this year. Saturn is rather stressed (in two ways, actually – being of emphasis, and strained through aspects to so many planets). Using more instinctual and intuitive (Moon) actions to build innovative (Uranus) foundations (Saturn) this year fits well with the fiery grand trine, considered with the t-squares. Mars, forming a wide conjunction to Saturn, reinforces the idea of combining personal energy with discipline. In short, this year is about work. But inherent in the difficulties are the greatest opportunities, and the tense aspects and “malefic” planets offer the most opportunity for growth. The fire element also is shouting out, have courage!

Other thoughts

I don’t see additional major patterns in the ingress chart. Many more significant ideas might be discussed, however.

The chart seems to contain a greater than average amount of squares. One notable square consists of Mercury in Pisces square Cupido (Transneptunian). Cupido is conjunct the Galactic Center in the ingress chart, and is generally a benefic point. Cupido is associated with marriage, togetherness, community, and “clan”. Experiencing Cupido contains an element of the wonder, immensity, and expansion of the galaxy this year, based on the ingress chart. Despite the work-oriented nature of the year, a sense of enjoyment can be attained from being social, based on the well-placed Cupido in the transits (perhaps helping to fill in the “void air” quality of the chart). Mercury forms a harsh square to Cupido, but Cupido is a benefic. Imaginative and spiritual type thought and communication, given the effort, can be used to form a sense of community. Disagreements and conflicting thoughts might occur within a marriage, clan, etc., but the end result – again, given the effort – can be that the marriage or community is made stronger.

The Transneptunians don’t seem to be more active than usual in the ingress chart, but one cool aspect involving one of the Great Eight is Pluto in Capricorn squaring Zeus in Libra. Pluto in Capricorn has his own theme of “altering structure”, and “controlled transformation”. This seems to be more relevant on a mundane level, but those who can find a way to access the power of Pluto, clashing with Zeus, might benefit substantially. Very focused, collaborative type efforts help to transform structures. We are seeing this a great deal these days, in government, the business world, and other powerful, structured institutions, and this mundane theme will probably accelerate this year. (The Presidential election this year is not a bad example of this, with Trump the likely Republican nominee and Sanders hanging on as the Democrat outsider. The idea is something like those who want to create change entering the public arena with a loud “bang”.) I indirectly alluded to a Pluto-Zeus theme earlier. Goal setting and increasing productivity through spontaneous, immediately applied, focused actions, particularly through relationships and teamwork (Zeus in Libra) creates opportunities to alter persistent perspectives and change structures (Pluto in Capricorn), although this is a great deal of difficult work (the square between the two). Saturn’s discipline and structure are obviously necessary to this process; and Pluto in Saturn’s sign, and the square, directly allude to Saturn as part of the process. Of great interest, Venus and Saturn square in the ingress chart. Zeus is in Venus’ sign. Venus likes harmony, but Saturn restricts. Therefore the difficulty of Venus-Saturn is inherent in the Pluto-Zeus square. Perhaps the prominent Neptune in the chart is demanding faith, in order to find ways to navigate the square and trust that everything will be even better than before when the dust settles.

A bit on the lighter side, Sun in Aries, Mars’ sign, is forming a reasonably strong trine to Mars in Sagittarius, Jupiter’s sign. That amplifies the fiery nature of the ingress chart (note that all of the planets interacting in the fiery signs form smooth trines). Self-expression, desires, and activity flow smoothly and have plenty of zest. Mars does well in the fire signs, in my view. While he’s at home in Aries, Sagittarius suits Mars reasonably well. Mars’ activity has a sense of adventure and expansion in the Sagittarius sign, and he connects well with Sun in Aries, Sun’s exaltation. While it’s not unusual, it’s worth noting that Sun and Mercury are conjunct, but in different signs. Thus thought and communication, always close to the basic identity, are still in unison, but manifest in sharply different ways. Thought is associated with endings this year, rather than beginnings, which bolsters the ‘past’ theme of the fiery grand trine.

I haven’t covered absolutely everything, but speaking of endings, I feel that the newsletter is starting to draw to a close. Please check out my web site, www.triplewaterastrology, and consider a solar return reading this year. The full solar return reading is best, but I am willing to craft a solar return reading of a shorter length if that fits your budget. Other readings might be quite useful for you as well and the information is on my web page.

I wish all of you the best this year, and keeping looking up! Happy solar return to friends with natal Sun in Aries. Mike

Triple Water Astrology – The Critical Degree! Weekly Horoscope – Week Starting Friday, March 11, 2016

Please like my page at http://www.facebook.com/triplewaterastrology!

Hi everyone…this will be my last weekly horoscope, at least for now. As Sun transits close to the end of Pisces on March 17, he will not only be conjunct my natal Moon – within a degree – at the end of the day, but transiting Moon will be exactly conjunct my natal Sun, and ascendant will be in early Scorpio, which is my natal ascendant placement. The planets are not there to tell a person what to do, but it seems to be a strong signal to end the weekly horoscopes at this time, and initiate a project that I’ve been thinking about for a while. With Sun about to enter Aries and a new zodiacal year imminent, I will revert to writing my first book rather than using the time each week to write the horoscope. I hope you enjoyed reading the weekly horoscope as much as I enjoyed writing it (not to sound hackneyed). I wish all of you the best in your endeavors, and implore you to keep the power of astrology in mind as you consider how to maximize your potential in life, and choose how to most productively benefit from handling inevitable challenges. Also, most certainly, look to the stars to intuit how to experience the better things in life. Keep…looking…up!

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

Aries

A strong ‘dedication’ type theme affects Aries Sun this week. Mars in a fiery sign works well for the duration of the week; and you can look forward to the Sun bursting into your Sun’s sign once again next week, exuding power and fiery strength in the sign of his exaltation. Thus, the week is ideal to use as a week of planning and preparation for Sun entering Aries, which melds well with the ‘enduring commitment’ theme. A focus on details and the past becomes more relevant in your week starting on March 14. Relationships generally require more effort, but can be more productive when you work to adapt and “go with the flow”. Greatest benefit from relationships takes place in career and work this week for you, given the right amount of determination. Aries also has a beneficial, if difficult, theme of exerting effort in order to make what you envision a reality. Commitment indeed has great potential for you as the zodiacal year concludes. Final thought for Aries: look to the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak, for a bit of added inspiration. A guide can help show you the finish line!

Taurus

The first few days of the week are opportune for Taurus Sun. Various projects and tasks that require both steady persistence and “brute force” have better than average chances for success on March 11. March 12 and 13 are days for Taurus to shine brightly. Taking advantage of learning opportunities, looking your best, and handling situations with versatility help to create opportunities on those days. Your receptive Sun experiences the power of Sun in Pisces more and more intensely as the week progresses, making Sun at the end of Pisces a rather spiritual experience for you. Use of empathy, imagination, and dreams becomes a stronger theme for Taurus as the week moves forward. Authority and structure start to feel heavier by the end of the week, but given the effort, Taurus can also enjoy and attempt to navigate a potent theme of “making your dreams into a material reality” currently in the heavens. Final thought for Taurus: breaking down and simplifying complex issues might help to reduce confounding problems.

Gemini

The week is generally upbeat for Gemini Sun, with the caveat that a staunch effort will likely be necessary to also make it productive. Gemini is well attuned to a “spiritual nurturing” theme this week, with a peak day on March 15. Imagination, compassion, and other Piscean type qualities are also strong for Gemini, particularly at the beginning of the week. You have direct access to the long-standing “controlled expansion” theme in the heavens this week, with a peak day on March 14; therefore major goals either completed, having reached a significant milestone, or started on March 14 bodes well. Your adept use of the mind has an extra boost around March 15 and 16 – watch for opportunities to use new ideas and benefit from flashes of insight on those days. March 12 is also opportune for using theory, either obtaining or giving insights based on both sharp observation and more intuitive insights, and experiencing spirituality. Final thought for Gemini: no additional insights for Gemini this week.

Cancer

Cancer Sun has a steady start to the week. Close relationships are influential for Cancer on March 12 and March 16. March 12 also contains a theme of increasing personal power, through steady persistence. Seeing both the details and entirety of problems and situations helps Cancer to develop sharp perspectives, a theme on March 12 that repeats on March 16, making the March 12 and 16 pivotal days this week for you. March 13 and 14 revolve around using assertive qualities and perhaps competition in a disciplined manner, in order to accomplish what you need to this week. March 14 has an “uphill” type of feel for Cancer, but plenty of potential for moving goals and aspirations forward if you are willing to give your best effort. Starting on about March 16, the week has a nice flow to it, attuned to Sun nearing the end of Pisces. Reflecting on what was accomplished, not only earlier in the week, but throughout this zodiacal year, would be a productive exercise for Cancer around March 16 and 17. Final thought for Cancer: no additional insights for Cancer this week.

Leo

The “controlled expansion” theme continues for Leo Sun as the week begins. A grinding feel to the start of the week has its upside, if you are willing to tend to necessary details as well as consider the big picture of situations and projects. Generally the start of the week has a feel of focusing on work for you. Mars in Sagittarius, a fire sign, works in your favor, and Mars heats up for you starting around the middle of the week, March 14. Your active determination to focus energy and finish projects is augmented by a useful adaptability and flexibility this week, especially after about March 14. Networking and logical problem solving becomes a stronger theme by the end of the week for you, with an added element of creativity potentially also working in your favor. As Sun, the planet at home in your Sun’s sign, prepares to leave the end of the zodiac, decent opportunities to use your influence and persistence present themselves on March 17, rounding out what can be a rather productive week. Final thought for Leo: look to connect to those with common interests if you need a boost this week.

Virgo

March 11 immediately brings opportunities for Virgo Sun. In addition to a nice, watery, flowing feel to close relationships all week, March 11 contains opportunities to concentrate your analytical and thinking abilities, in order to develop keen insights, access wisdom of self or others, and even look ahead and use intuition to benefit. Virgo is definitely attuned to the stellium of planets in Pisces this week, in fact opposite of your Sun by sign. This is a week of using imagination, supporting causes and ideals that you believe in, and generally experiencing and expressing spirituality, particularly at the beginning of the week. Also of note, March 15 contains elevated possibilities for increased productivity, taking immediate action to create favorable effects, and using personal creativity to reach goals, or draw significantly closer to them. No doubt Jupiter in your Sun’s sign is still of benefit this week. As the zodiacal year draws to a close, personal growth, material gains, and expanding your interests in work or elsewhere might be evaluated in order to determine how, or whether, to change direction over the next twelve months. Final thought for Virgo: no additional insights for Virgo this week.

Libra

Close relationships slowly edge into the picture again this week for Libra Sun. The watery feel in the transits reflects the renewed, flowing, intense feel to close relationships for you this week, with the effect starting on about March 15. Relationships in general require much more of your natural ability to balance and create harmony. This can result in more productivity via collaborating with other people (obviously this is most applicable to work and career), but a sense of spirituality might also accompany the effort made to reach out to other people, even given the difficulties. Despite the activity in the transits for you regarding relationships, March 14 has the feel of a more introspective and private day for Libra. The transits are void air this week (except for Moon for several days), however, the watery endings of Sun in Pisces are particularly relevant for you as Sun is about to move into Aries, the sign opposite of yours. Therefore, this week might be well used as a time to wrap up various projects or issues as you anticipate new beginnings with Sun entering Aries. Final thought for Libra: no additional insights for Libra this week.

Scorpio

The zodiacal year ends soon, and it ends reasonably well for Scorpio Sun. Authority and structure have a subtle influence on Scorpio this week. However, it might be used to slowly expand your interests, particularly if you give proper attention to detail and work diligently to create opportunities, even if the payoff is not immediate. Scorpio has a theme lasting from about March 12 to 16, of using logic and step-by-step problem solving combined with intuitive insight, or perhaps looking forward, to help complete objectives successfully. The watery stellium in the Pisces sign this week is quite comfortable for Scorpio; and the “spiritual nurturing” theme is also strong for you this week. March 16 and 17 flow well for Scorpio, as the end of the zodiacal year draws very near. The end of the week is opportune for looking inward and evaluating how any changes in the past year have affected you, and given you perspectives regarding how to make the most out of the pending new year. Final thought for Scorpio: difficult or aggravating tasks are best handled in small pieces. Partitioning the work and handling projects piece by piece can be of great use.

Sagittarius

Transiting Sun squaring your Sun by sign is winding down. What a reflection of Saturn in your Sun’s sign, squaring your Sun’s ruler, Jupiter! Laying groundwork, planning, and having faith that small actions now can be of great benefit later is a potent theme for Sagittarius Sun this week. Working to develop sharp perspectives and increase your personal power is another potentially useful theme that lasts throughout the week for Sagittarius. Plenty of favorable influences can help propel you forward this week, and assist with considering how to maximize the “controlled expansion” theme directly affecting you, including a supercharged “mind” theme that lasts all week and peaks on March 14. A combination of logic and sudden insights applied to intellectual problems, and various areas of life, is available this week for Sagittarius. Creativity and use of imagination can also augment the mind theme. Therefore a broad array of beneficial energies serves to complement your natural inclination towards wisdom and seeking the truth, an uplifting way to wrap up the zodiacal year. Final thought for Sagittarius: in addition to slow and steady wins the race, repetition enters the picture, suggesting that persistence and determination characterizes the week – obviously, with both Mars and Saturn now in your Sun’s sign.

Capricorn

Transiting Sun’s influence on Capricorn Sun is strongest at the beginning of the week. The better qualities of the Pisces energy are certainly available, but they require effort for Capricorn to access. The good news is that this can be a very productive week for you, with Sun nearing the end of the zodiac. Your natural affinity for structure, order, and discipline works well in dealing with the watery, transcending Pisces energy. Expressing and using qualities of empathy, imagination, and idealism are elevated this week, particularly with experiencing your basic identity, communicating, touching spirit, and towards the end of the week, in relationships. A feeling of unity in relationships might be of comfort for you on March 14. Although the week might be tiring, it also has a reasonably upbeat feel oriented towards personal growth and making the most of your efforts, when you pay attention to detail in tandem with stepping back and seeing the larger picture of situations or projects. Sun entering Aries next week works well for your initiating sign; thus this week, as with several of the other signs, may be beneficial in terms of planning for the next week, month, and year. Final thought for Capricorn: valuable lessons might be gained from not obtaining what you wanted – including the realization that something better is in store.

Aquarius

Aquarius Sun can take advantage of a burst of productivity combined with creativity on March 11, giving your week a running start. March 15 is another potentially productive day, with the watery energies contributing a creative feel to a “mind” theme that can be used to expand your efforts. The week almost feels as though Sun is entering Aries early for Aquarius. Still, the powerful stellium in Pisces is a reminder that wrapping up projects (for Aquarius, with quite a rush of energy at the end of the zodiacal year) in preparation for new cycles and aspirations is in order this week. The “controlled expansion” theme is definitely of use and something to consider for Aquarius, but with a twist that the other signs don’t fully experience. Careful, disciplined planning helps yield insights and perspectives for immediate or later use, and also encourages developing your personal power. Also enjoy Venus in your Sun’s sign for one last day on March 11. Final thought for Aquarius: some may challenge your actions this week, but a Chinese proverb comes to mind if they contribute to self-doubt: “Those who say that something is impossible should not interrupt the person who is doing it.”

Pisces

Speaking your truth is a poignant theme for Pisces Sun this week. As your solar return month winds down, three other planets besides Sun reside in your Sun’s sign. Perhaps the most interesting and useful is Venus conjunct her spiritual teacher, Neptune. Both are strong by sign and they work well together – empathetically and compassionately connecting with individuals is a path to Neptune’s bliss. Those with Sun in Pisces repeat the connection to Neptune via their Sun’s sign. Thus Pisces has the opportunity this week, with Sun about to enter Aries again, to simultaneously experience self (Sun), others (Venus), and a greater collective (Neptune). Propensity to take action also characterizes your week. While demanding effort is required, lasting and meaningful accomplishments can be the result. Therefore concluding major cycles and projects in your life becomes a major issue this week. Final thought for Pisces: seeking advice at the right time can make a huge difference!

Triple Water Astrology – The Critical Degree! Weekly Horoscope – Week Starting Friday, March 4, 2016

Please like my page at http://www.facebook.com/triplewaterastrology!

Mars and Mercury form a tight square in the anaretic degrees of each of their signs, to start off another week of Sun in Pisces. What a fascinating square, with both planets in the signs of their overtones – Mars in his overlord’s, Pluto’s, sign, Scorpio, and Mercury in his tutor’s sign, Aquarius. The tense aspect between the two persists throughout the week, but the nature of the clash changes drastically, with both entering new signs on March 5. Mars will have plenty of fire and zest in Jupiter’s sign, Sagittarius; and Mercury will become very watery and intuitive in the Pisces sign. Determined effort to apply both energy and thought to activities and projects that create productive change quickly melds into working to actively adapt to various circumstances and logically intuit the best path forward in order to successfully achieve objectives.

Sun opposes Jupiter, the minor Sun, throughout the week, with an exact opposition forming on March 8. Personal growth becomes a strong theme this week, particularly through work, giving service, and perhaps via relationships that share common ideals. Moon conjuncts Sun at 18 Pisces on March 8 – a very important solar eclipse. Opportunity for personal growth via new spiritual paths is outstanding. Therefore, considering how a different path might be of benefit – or how to navigate a new path suddenly in front of you – is a foremost consideration this week.

With all of the talk about the spectacular eclipse, another important aspect involving Sun occurs at the end of the week. Chiron will be in the heart of the Sun on March 10, indicating that Chiron’s influence – healing, choosing one’s unique path, and formal evaluations of one’s life, particularly in the spiritual realm with Chiron in Pisces – will shine brightly and in a very conscious manner on the last day of the week. The solar eclipse has potential for a shift in direction, and Chiron reinforces the idea of a new direction. This paradoxical week is very much about beginnings, even with Sun in the last sign of the zodiac.

Both Sun and Neptune form mutable t-squares with Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter and Saturn form a tight square by the end of the week. Saturn’s restrictions clash with Jupiter’s expansion. Despite the struggle, however, those who work to find a way to adapt and be creative can find a way to reap slow and steady gains. Integrating the “controlled expansion” theme into your life, somehow, also has a sense of touching spirit, given Neptune’s influence, and Sun residing in the middle of Neptune’s sign this week.

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

Aries

Your Sun’s ruling planet, Mars, moving in Sagittarius on March 5, is comfortable for Aries Sun. March 6 to 10 is generally upbeat and success-oriented for Aries. Creating opportunities through learning, looking sharp, and trying new activities in order to expand your capabilities works well with the Mars ingress into Sagittarius. Aries also has a continuing theme, lasting all week, of steadfast dedication to aspirations (of interest, this changes from a more active and initiating type of feel to a more stable and conservative type of feel on March 7). Relationships become more influential as the week progresses; they require more effort than usual, but can also be of greater benefit in career, for example. Logic and thought are also of greater than average influence for Aries all week, again with the caveat that applying elevated effort will typically be necessary in order to generate favorable results. Final thought for Aries: in times of need this week, seek a guide to show you the way.

Taurus

An “expanding knowledge” theme is available for Taurus Sun on March 4 and 5. The first two days of your week might be more disruptive than average, but also have a feel of optimism and flow well with the “personal growth” theme in the transits. After March 5, Taurus has somewhat of a lull until the last part of the week, although the week has more of a feel of increased drive and ambition as it goes on. March 9 is perhaps the nicest day of the week, with a sense of community, togetherness, and participating as a necessary part of a greater entirety (for example, at work or in family). March 10 is opportune for using your persistence and determination in order to finish projects, particularly more complicated and large ones. The “steady focus” theme also begins to work well for Taurus by the end of the week; watch for a shift to using your innate earthy persistence to heightened effect around March 7. Final thought for Taurus: no additional insights for Taurus this week.

Gemini

The week has a flowing type of feel for Gemini Sun. This can be a week of accomplishment and moving ambitions forward, if the demands of the week are met with hard work. Watch for March 5 this week for heightened opportunities to use your natural inclinations to great effect – gathering information and learning, applying effort and knowledge in various ways to problems and activities, and communicating ideas in a manner that helps to produce favorable results. Gemini also has a theme of “passionate idealism” forming this week. Taking action in order to promote or defend causes and ideas that you believe in becomes a strong factor for you. March 9 has opportunities for showing leadership and excelling in your area of expertise, or further developing expertise in your area of talent. Also watch for heightened intuition on March 7. Final thought for Gemini: “Reading between the lines” when you communicate with various people this week might be of benefit, or necessary.

Cancer

The start of the week, March 4, has a more serious and reserved tone for Cancer Sun. The day is favorable for work and accomplishing goals, however. March 6 is more focused on relationships, and has potential as an enjoyable day for Cancer. No doubt that the solar eclipse on March 8 is important for Cancer, whose Sun is ruled by the Moon. March 7 is an ideal day for cogitating where your current path in life might be, particularly in regards to spirituality, and intuiting and imagining what different paths might be like, in preparation for March 8. Work and career also becomes prominent for Cancer again on March 8, with an “optimistic idealism” theme also in the mix that might spur productivity. The last few days of the week, March 9 and 10, tend to be more active and flow well with Mars entering a fire sign; using a combination of drive and will, along with flexing to new situations, fits the energies of the days after the eclipse well for you, Final thought for Cancer: finding ways to use “new inspiration” is an intriguing theme for Cancer this week.

Leo

Leo Sun has plenty of influences from the transits to work with this week. The “controlled expansion” theme hits Leo directly, but several other strong factors contribute to an active week for you. Close relationships flow smoothly for Leo this week, with the best day on March 5; thus close relationships can be a key factor if you need some type of support. Leo also has a week of working to gain personal power and implementing change if you find it necessary, with a peak day on March 7. March 8, the day of the eclipse, is also favorable for using intuition and flashes of insight, at work or in other endeavors. Concentrating energy and effort in achieving goals and increasing output has greater than average potential for Leo on March 7 and 8. The “personal growth” theme also resonates well for Leo this week, with Mars entering a fire sign contributing increased activity and flexibility in order to work at attaining greater self-awareness and consciousness. Final thought for Leo: planning for contingencies might pay off this week.

Virgo

The week definitely has a more spiritual tone for Virgo Sun. As many as four planets will be opposite of your Sun’s sign this week. The Neptunian influence is strong for Virgo. Your earthy, analytical qualities have access to idealism and imagination, a potent combination if the effort is made to amalgamate them. The dreamy, transcendent type of feel to your week is strongest on March 10, but the end of the week also has the advantage of using industriousness and practical application of work in order to help give form to what you imagine. March 7 is a day of paying careful attention to detail and making adjustments in order to deal with difficulties, at work or elsewhere. (Use of intuition and looking forward may also be of great benefit in problem solving on March 7.) Towards the end of the week, also look to close relationships for a boost if you need it. Final thought for Virgo: some situations may require special dispensation this week, but beware of allowing the situations to carry on.

Libra

Venus remains in the airy Aquarius sign throughout the week, which is a boost for Libra Sun. Plenty of extra opportunities remain for friendly socializing, exchange of brilliant ideas, and participating in various groups in work or leisure until Venus moves into Pisces, the sign of her exaltation, next week. Relationships also contain an element of creativity in generating new ideas for Libra this week, from March 4 to about March 7. Relationships, even close relationships, tend to be more work oriented; but the extra effort required from relationships this week aligns well with the personal growth theme in the transits, if you are willing to do the necessary and sometimes difficult work. Working to convince other people of your point of view, based on concrete facts and by using steady persistence, has potential to pay off on March 10 for Libra. Enjoy this last week of Venus in Aquarius, after which the transits move to void air again for a while. Final thought for Libra: graceful, natural body language and speech can help you make a favorable impression this week.

Scorpio

Scorpio Sun experiences the return of a theme that will last for a significant amount of time, and certainly throughout this entire week. Hard work, combined with cooperative efforts under preexisting structure, has greater than average potential for reaching goals, increasing productivity, and concentrating energy in order to move towards a desired direction. Obviously this is useful for career, but might be applied to many areas of life. Mars leaves your Sun’s sign early this week, but he will return to Scorpio in late May. Thus experiencing the intensity, passion, and energy of Mars for one last day this week, manifesting via the same sign as your Sun, is opportune for making a final push to attain something of desire at the beginning of the week. Authority is of subtle influence for Scorpio this week, but applying thought and creativity in order to deal with structure augments the “cooperative productivity” theme in the transits for you in a nice fashion. The watery eclipse on March 8 also makes that a day to pay attention to, particularly in the spiritual side of your life. Final thought for Scorpio: in bothersome situations, seeking unity helps accomplish resolution.

Sagittarius

Support from close relationships continues as a theme for Sagittarius Sun this week, and in fact becomes a bit stronger as the week progresses. Sagittarius has a unique position among the signs to hopefully use a “restriction versus revolution” theme in which you might work to bring about meaningful change in a deliberate manner this week. The new Moon and eclipse can also be a powerful event for Sagittarius, perhaps bringing about cathartic experiences and cleansing. The week has quite a variety of themes for Sagittarius. Among others, watch for a combination of thought and imagination helping to bring about new ideas or different modes of experiencing life around March 9 and 10. As with Scorpio, Sagittarius has a theme of “collaborative accomplishment” lasting throughout the week. Thus the variation of themes can meld into a very productive week when goals are set and creative efforts involve other people in reaching them. Final thought for Sagittarius: tenacity is a valuable asset – failures might also be considered to be learning experiences, in preparation for the next attempt.

Capricorn

Useful perspectives gained through close relationships are a source of strength for Capricorn Sun this week. The “expanding knowledge” theme affecting Capricorn may also be of great benefit throughout the week, with the key March 8 date portending new experiences. Activity and competition tends to remain abrupt and volatile, but given the effort to meet the challenges, an upbeat sense of being able to handle difficulties and finding the opportunities therein persists for you. This week is also outstanding for Capricorn to use concepts and see both the entirety of situations or problems as well as the details therein, which is a catalyst for developing your personal power if you so choose. Thinking about the future, combining logic and intuition, and inspirational speech or writing (either produced or consumed) are of beneficial use for Capricorn towards the end of the week, given the effort to implement their qualities productively. Final thought for Capricorn: prudence might be called for in situations of conflict; a good outlet for your passion towards the situation is to find a quick resolution.

Aquarius

Mercury quickly leaves your Sun’s sign after the week begins, but Venus in Aquarius gives Aquarius Sun a decent boost throughout the week. Relationships are generally productive and flow well, perhaps best at work, from March 4 to 6. The “collaborative productivity” theme is again in effect for Aquarius this week, and lasts all week. Extra effort to reach goals and implement creative ideas within a team or organization is suggested as this theme will end for you after this week. Rigorous efforts to use concepts and theories in a practical or creative manner can pay off well this week, particularly towards the end of it. This works delightfully well with the “forest and the trees” theme in the transits, seeing the big picture of an issue or problem and also the details therein, to productive effect. Intuition is heightened on March 10 for Aquarius, with Neptune and Mercury within a wide conjunction of Sun in Pisces on that day. Final thought for Aquarius: stretching the limits of your mind can keep you busy this week.

Pisces

The excitement in the transits continues during your solar return month. Even with Sun drawing away from a conjunction to Neptune in his home sign, Pisces Sun has both a solar eclipse and Chiron cazimi Sun to look forward to this week. Gathering information, networking, and using ideas is a strong theme for Pisces this week, strongest at the end of the week. Authority and structure are definitely in the picture for Pisces, but a sense of opportunity accompanies the heavier energies and the “controlled expansion” theme becomes stronger for you this week, probably most beneficial for work and career. The “spiritual nurturing” theme is still lingering for you this week, during the eclipse and Chiron in the heart of the Sun. Thus a focus on spiritually cultivating self or others can provide satisfaction for you this week and open new gateways that you might choose to traverse through. Final thought for Pisces: lost opportunities are only of no value if no learning has taken place.

Triple Water Astrology – The Critical Degree! Weekly Horoscope – Week Starting Friday, February 26, 2016

Sun, transiting through the last sign of the zodiac this week, has a demanding road ahead over the next seven days. No doubt that Neptune in his dominion, Pisces, in the heart of the Sun, on February 28, is a major event. Neptune exactly conjunct the Sun allows Neptune’s qualities to shine brightly and in unity with transiting Sun’s consciousness. The heights of bliss, connection with a greater collective, imagination, and watery visions and intuition will be emanating from the core of the solar system at mid-week. Sun more strongly connecting with the Jupiter-Saturn square this week is also of great interest, with Neptune helping to form a double mutable t-square. Consciously melding creative qualities with adaptability, in order to work towards a persistent, disciplined expansion of interests, may not immediately pay off, but the double t-square has the sense of planting seeds that will one day emerge from the soil and become towering trees. Dream big, and then make your objective to relentlessly manifest what you want!

Mercury in Aquarius forms a square with Mars in Scorpio all week, and both prepare to leave their respective signs at the end of the week. The tense square connects planets in fixed signs, and remarkably, both planets are in the signs of their overtones (Mars in his overlord’s, Pluto’s, sign, and Mercury in his tutor’s, Uranus’, sign). Thus Scorpio Mars’ intense, active change clashes with Aquarius Mercurys revolutionary thought. Active communication, will to use logic, and thinking competitively have great potential to usher in productive change, for those who are determined and willing to give the necessary effort. Mercury and Mars this week obviously relate well to the mutable t-squares, or at least suggest an efficient path in meeting the challenges of them.

Uranus is certainly not inactive this week. He helps to form the base of a yod with his pupil, Mercury, pointing to Jupiter, in the first part of the week. Uranus then helps to form a similar yod with a sextile to Venus, both pointing to Jupiter, in the last part of the week. Supercharged thought helps create uplifting opportunities and abundance at the beginning of the week, and at the end, something to the effect of “unusual alliances”, or a wide and eclectic circle of friends, points the way to expansion and various types of growth, particularly pertaining to detail, creating efficiencies, and seeing the entirety of an issue or problem while tending to various finer points of it. The outlet of each yod pattern is approximately Chiron. Chiron in Pisces serves as a humble reminder this week that his powerful “spiritual healing” theme contains great promise and hope as we experience Sun in Pisces and prepare for a new zodiacal year.

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

Aries

The ‘spiritual healing’ theme in the transits flows well for Aries Sun this week, with the most powerful effect towards the beginning of the week. February 28 and 29 are also rather watery days for Aries. Intense, powerful emotions might be used to your benefit at the end of February, which coincides well with Neptune in the heart of the Sun. Depth of emotion is contrasted this week with a more cognitive theme for you, with the opportunity to combine effort with logic and rational thought in order to meet the challenges of the week. Aries also has an extended time, starting on February 28 and lasting until the end of the week, to combine mighty efforts with pertinacious endurance in order to achieve objectives. The mutable qualities of the heavens this week will likely be of use for Aries, as your fiery core adapts to the watery energies affecting your sign. Exerting the effort and tapping the necessary creativity to do so this week can pay off nicely, however. Final thought for Aries: Unraveling a vexing problem this week might finally lead to solving it!

Taurus

Mental acuity is a sharp theme starting the week for Taurus Sun. Seeing both the big picture and the details therein is a useful theme for Taurus this week that manifests in several different ways. Deliberate logic and orderly thought have greater than average potential to lead to instant insights and breakthroughs as well, with March 2 as a peak day regarding this theme. March 1 and 2 are opportune for working creatively within set structures in order to reach goals or move closer to fulfilling objectives, and quickly changing directions in order to complete tasks successfully also can be of greater than average benefit in the first two days of March. Authority might feel a bit heavy this week, especially on February 29; but by week’s end Taurus has chances for a few rather uplifting days, particularly in work and when you attempt to expand your knowledge base. Final thought for Taurus: finding a balance between taking action and maintaining stability is a potentially rewarding challenge for Taurus this week.

Gemini

Be quick to take advantage of using focus and cooperative efforts to reach objectives on February 26, a nice theme that starts the week for Gemini Sun. Watery Pisces Sun squaring your Sun by sign forces Gemini to focus more attention on endings, transcendence, and other ethereal qualities of the Pisces energy this week. Therefore, working at touching spirit through the mind can be a powerful experience for you with Sun in the last sign of the zodiac. Gemini does not lack the will and passion to do so this week. This week also has better than average potential for being productive and finding ways to assertively increase your personal power, given the effort. February 26 and 27 are probably the most upbeat days of the week for Gemini, and experimenting with new ideas, experiencing sudden insights and wisdom, and spontaneously having fun work well for you on those days. Gemini has an additional theme of a fiery commitment to what you actively focus your will and drive towards in the latter half of the week. Final thought for Gemini: interacting with other people, already one of your strong suits, has an added possibility this week of intuiting the best way to proceed with them in a given situation.

Cancer

A more social start to the week for Cancer Sun quickly plunges into a more watery and comfortable type of domain on February 27. Sun in Pisces already generally works well for Cancer, and using imagination, intuiting vaticinations, and intense watery experiences are strong themes for you from February 27 to 29. (Look to close relationships for assistance if you need it on February 28, and watch for opportunities to assert your personal power on February 29.) Cancer is more attuned to the Jupiter-Saturn “controlled expansion” theme in the second half of the week, with the strongest day of March 1. Thus the month of March begins for Cancer with the opportunity to sow seeds and work towards a potentially rich harvest, particularly pertaining to work and career. By March 3, the focus of the week for Cancer turns towards career and March 3 in particular is a rather achievement-oriented day. Final thought for Cancer: applying theory and abstractions effectively can be difficult, but if you manage to find a way it can help to bring about necessary controls.

Leo

Leo Sun’s ruler, Sun, in Pisces, draws attention to spirit for you this month. This week, in particular, is very much about the sacrifice, redemption, faith, and boundlessness of Pisces for Leo. February 26 and 27 contain opportunities to become grounded and work towards progressing in your area of specialty and achieving recognition in your field of expertise. Authority is also tapping you on the shoulder all week, and authority is most influential by week’s end. However, the ‘structure’ influence entering the picture this week can also have the effect of bringing your dreams closer to reality…thus one key to responding to a paradoxical week is how you approach it. Determined, disciplined efforts have much better chances of bringing about desired results. Close relationships tend to flow well for Leo this week, and best towards the end of the week. Finding ways to reach large groups of people with your ideas, and intuiting answers to difficult problems, works best on March 2. Also watch for opportunities to give or receive “spiritual nurturing” throughout the week, with a peak day on March 3. Final thought for Leo: this week is ideal for recognizing when situations and projects need to be resolved and finished, and taking efficient action to end them.

Virgo

Close relationships tend to require more work for Virgo Sun at the beginning of the week. While they can be intense, both the work and the intensity suggest a great deal of progress or accomplishment is also possible when you participate in close relationships. This effect wanes as the week progresses. Relationships in general are also most influential at the beginning of the week, and in contrast, they have a more casual and very friendly, relaxed feel. Whether at work or elsewhere in your life, “practical innovation” characterizes interactions. Experiencing something new or exchanging useful ideas is prominent in relationships for Virgo this week. Work and career are more influential towards the beginning of the week, and February 26 contains elevated opportunities for experiencing personal growth through disciplined efforts and perhaps being mentored by a like-minded individual. Neptune in the heart of the Sun on February 28, in the sign opposite yours, can also be a powerful experience for Virgo. Thus bearing in mind the important February 28 date and considering how to integrate spirit and imagination into your life this week also hold potential rewards. Final thought for Virgo: no additional insights for Virgo this week.

Libra

Watch for a more flowing, intuitive, and receptive start to the week on February 26. Libra Sun has the advantage of access to the watery feel of the transits this week, while retaining a comfortable position within the airy element. This opens up many possibilities; perhaps first and foremost, combining imagination and creativity with thought. February 26 to 28 exemplify the “mind and spirit” theme for Libra well. Use of the mind leads to touching spirit, through developing insight via learning, amalgamating ideas to experience wisdom, and considering theory or abstract ideas in order to align with a greater collective. Seeking a guide can help clarify and develop perspectives, and even develop personal power, around March 1. Developing close relationships in work and career is also a potentially useful theme for Libra around February 29. Pushing new ideas forward in order to experience success has possibilities for you on March 2 and 3. Final thought for Libra: no additional insights for Libra this week.

Scorpio

Your Sun’s ruler’s understudy, Mars, is about to leave your Sun’s sign. However, Scorpio Sun has another full week this week to enjoy the passion and intensity of Mars in Pluto’s sign. Personal projects and activities requiring extra effort and assertive action, therefore, would be well timed for completion this week, particularly with Sun transiting through Pisces. Structure and authority subtly work their way into your week; however, this allows Scorpio to fully take advantage of the continuing “controlled expansion” theme in the heavens, especially via work and career. Close relationships continue to be a source of support this week, and relationships in general are of greater than average importance for Scorpio on February 29 and March 1. The “spiritual nurturing” theme becomes influential by the week’s end for you. Sun in Pisces flows well for Scorpio, and while Neptune in the heart of the Sun is not directly influential for Scorpio, such a powerful event makes February 28 worth marking on your calendar. Revel in the Neptunian energy exuding through the massive solar core in mid-week. Final thought for Scorpio: as the transits generally suggest this week, success may not happen after the first attempt. Don’t give up too easily!

Sagittarius

The patterns in the heavens are a decent fit for Sagittarius Sun this week, with plenty of variety, ample challenges, and opportunities to actively flex to situations and turn them to your advantage. This week points to structure as very influential for Sagittarius. Various factors help to meet the challenges of authority, however. Sagittarius has increased access to the “mind” theme this week, particularly at the beginning of the week. Use of logic, sharing ideas, and networking with friends has potential to push career interests forward and expand personal limits. Close relationships edge in to provide support towards the end of the week, and relationships potentially provide valuable support from about March 1 to 3. Relationships are most useful for Sagittarius in the second half of the week when they introduce new ideas, learning, and move personal or professional projects forward through equal sharing of duties. Sagittarius is most attuned to the watery feel in the transits from about February 29 to March 2; creativity and intuition will likely flow better on those days for you this week. Final thought for Sagittarius: watch for opportunities this week to “dive into” projects and tasks currently underway in order to successfully complete them.

Capricorn

This can be a rather spiritually oriented week for Capricorn Sun, depending on how you approach it. Certainly your industrious qualities can be utilized effectively this week. Developing and using sharp perspectives in career becomes a subtle, but potentially effective, theme for you starting on about February 29 and lasting through the end of the week. This “viewpoints” theme entails meeting minds with other people on February 29 and March 1, obviously beneficial for obtaining critical information or accumulating new ideas for immediate or later use. March 1 is also an opportune day for tapping into the powerful Pisces energies in the transits; heightened intuition or increased creativity works best for Capricorn on the first day of March during this week. The theme of combining thought with imagination also works well for you all week, with the best opportunities at the end of it. Thus the abstract and intangible, given form, requires a great deal of effort, but also can be of assistance in helping you have a successful week. Final thought for Capricorn: acting as a mediator can be humbling, but contains a certain richness through the experience of doing so.

Aquarius

February 26 to about February 28 have great potential for Aquarius Sun, if you can find a way to take advantage of seeing the larger scope of something while also seeing the finer details therein – obviously a beneficial theme for work and career. Aquarius has quite a favorable week for using thought and communication to influence other people. At the least, the week portends enjoyment through meeting of the minds for Aquarius. March 1 to 3 is outstanding for forming contacts and networking for mutual benefit, particularly at work. Aquarius also has the entire week to consider how to take advantage of a long-lasting theme of working actively within structure to achieve goals. This theme generally has a collaborative type of feel, and also a transformative element associated with it. Focusing energy and acting with a sense of purpose has a very goal-oriented feel, and working in a creative element to the process helps make your efforts highly productive this week. The overall feel of “active dedication” continues this week for you and starts winding down, but is still available in what can be a prolific week. Final thought for Aquarius: in conflicting situations, Aquarius has the ability to state a powerful case this week.

Pisces

This is the week of Sun exactly conjuncting your Sun’s ruler, during your solar return month. A heightened consciousness, which essentially describes your Sun’s objective, is available during the week, with a peak day on February 28. The Jupiter-Saturn theme is also starting to tap Pisces Sun on the shoulder this week. Diligently creating conditions that might grow into major opportunities over the long term is a pronounced opportunity that becomes more in focus for Pisces this week. “Spiritual nurturing” continues as a harmonious theme for your watery Sun, and close relationships are a foremost source of either giving or receiving compassionate support this week. The planets are about equally distributed among the elements this week, but slightly in favor of the watery element; and Neptune and Sun both in the Pisces sign draws attention to your Sun’s sign in the transits. This week is a heightened opportunity for you to express your consciousness, draw on your personal creativity, and experience spirituality. Final thought for Pisces: success can still be attained if you can access the correct information.

Triple Water Astrology – The Anaretic Degree! Sun in Pisces 2016 newsletter

The zodiacal year begins to wind down, with Sun entering the watery Pisces sign. The ingress chart shows a vague mutable t-square, involving Jupiter in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces squaring Saturn in Sagittarius. The importance of the t-square starting to form with Sun entering Pisces is difficult to overstate, with both the classical ruler of Pisces, Jupiter, and the modern ruler of Pisces, Neptune, repeating among the three planets (Saturn, the focal point of the t-square, is in Jupiter’s sign, and Neptune is in his home sign). While the pattern has its difficulties, I am amazed at the potential it symbolizes. Jupiter-Saturn’s “controlled expansion” theme has an added element of imagination and idealism added to it. Slow, steady, and often, exhausting work, can help make your dreams into a reality! And even if you fall short of your goals, you are probably enriched by the experience of the attempt. Neptune seems to symbolize what is always just beyond one’s grasp. The paradoxes and nebulous nature of Neptune demands faith! My yearly forecast is pending with the Aries Sun ingress, and I will have much more to say about the t-square in next month’s newsletter.

Neptune is ending his run in the first decan of Pisces, his dominion. Sun in Pisces is conjunct Neptune for about the first two-thirds of the month, and this brings more conscious awareness to the power of Neptune in his home sign. The last sign of the zodiac is watery/emotional, and mutable/flexible/adaptable. The transits will shift to a more instinctive and feeling type of vibe with the core of the solar system moving through tropical Pisces. Neptune demands a certain consciousness in order to access his better qualities, as well as discipline and structure (Saturn!). Those who find a way to utilize the Saturn-Neptune square will be in a better position to access and experience Neptune’s bliss, imagination, empathy, intuition, foresight, and spirituality – or least be better able to avoid his deceptions, delusions, denials, lack of direction, and escapes. Certainly the pending end of the Age of Pisces springs to mind, as each year draws us closer to the end of the current Great Age that symbolizes endings (some astrologers and spectators are of the opinion that we are already in the Age of Aquarius, but in my view ample evidence suggests that we are not yet in it). Looking more at the detailed side of the cosmic big picture, each year with Sun in Pisces is an opportunity to reflect, and decide what needs to be brought to closure in order to initiate new cycles that build on completed cycles. Endings require faith, a tough but inevitable lesson of the Pisces energy.

Of interest, Uranus and Neptune aspect Transneptunians in the ingress chart, raising a “faith versus reason” theme, or a theme of reconciling faith and reason. Uranus, Moon, and Zeus form a cardinal t-square in the ingress chart. New ideas can be implemented creatively within a set structure, with support from strong instincts and intuition, given the effort. The t-square is tough, but holds great promise for accomplishment. It also contrasts with the “endings” theme of Sun in Pisces; therefore, making a final push to start something might bring something to completion, or the initiating a short project might be of benefit this month. Neptune in the ingress chart is closely conjunct Ceres (asteroid lady). Ceres’ unconditional loving acts with Neptune’s faith, and a great deal of compassion and empathy are present with the two conjunct in Pisces (more succinctly, a theme of “spiritual nurturing”). Both forming a trine to Kronos gives the impression of religious or spiritual authority as influential this month. A sense of idealism applied to perfecting one’s craft is also symbolic of Neptune-Kronos. Showing leadership might sway other people to a certain point of view, particularly a group of people. Kronos has an earthy type of symbolism, and generally speaking he provides some structure, just as Saturn does, in order to access the better qualities of Neptune.

Hopefully your month is off to a running start. I have the usual topics, and with Sun in Pisces I give my ancillary comments about the Pisces energy each year, based on my experience as someone with natal Moon in Pisces.

Let’s see what else the heavens portend for this month.

Spirituality

Neptune will be in the heart of the Sun on February 28. The outer planets can only be cazimi the Sun once per year (Mercury and perhaps Venus might retrograde in just the right manner so this can happen several times within a short time frame, and based on their positions between Sun and earth, other opportunities present themselves for the cazimi aspect within a year, most of all with Mercury. I have run across the cazimi feature most often with Mercury and Venus in natal charts). Sun cazimi Neptune this year is part of the wide mutable t-square involving Jupiter and Saturn. Neptune conjunct Sun for the majority of the month, and especially Neptune cazimi Sun, creates a powerful “conscious spirituality” theme, and Sun joins the t-square starting on about February 28. A certain intuitive creativity, given the effort, complements Jupiter and Saturn’s “controlled expansion” theme. Most often I consider the Jupiter-Saturn square as useful for career, and perhaps aspects of personal life such as self-improvement. Sun-Neptune in Pisces shines a different light on the Jupiter-Saturn concept. The idea of the t-square this month is not so much competition with other people or one’s self, but more of a struggle to integrate with a greater collective and experience bliss. Raising consciousness (Sun) through educating one’s self (Jupiter) and partaking in various disciplines (Saturn) leads to attaining bliss, or at least finding a path towards it. Neptune cazimi Sun forms a trine to Kronos (Transneptunian) within a reasonable orb, thus the idea of spiritual authority enters the picture in the spiritual journey. Kronos in Cancer emphasizes both the feminine and the unconscious. While each individual’s experience is unique, the Kronos influence gives the impression of a more common spiritual path (such as through organized religion), and indeed advancing to higher levels of spiritual advancement, or interactions with religious authorities or those who have attained higher levels of spirituality.

February 28, amazingly, will also have Scorpio Moon forming a grand trine with Sun/Neptune and Kronos, as well as forming a conjunction with Poseidon (Transneptunian) slightly later that day (actually very early in the morning if you are in the U.S.). Ceres will also be forming a trine to Poseidon as well…many watery influences will be present in the transits at the end of February. Scorpio Moon conjunct Poseidon suggests that emotionally exploring and experiencing spiritual depths can be a powerful source of wisdom and enlightenment, and the Ceres influence activates a theme of “spiritual nourishment”. Additionally, a yod pointing to Jupiter, formed by Mercury and Uranus at the base of the yod, is in effect on February 28th, and Chiron is the outlet of the yod, no less! Mercury and Uranus, a planetary pair, contribute their thought and flashes of insight, which point to wisdom, growth, and expansion (Jupiter). Use of the mind becomes a rival tantamount to the experience of watery faith, and the heavens raise a subtle but very strong and magnificent allusion to the pending shift in the Great Ages via the yod. Chiron in Pisces is a very spiritual placement, and his role in the yod helps to signify that the Age of Pisces is still solidly in place, in my view. Facing woundedness and forging your own spiritual path are the outlet for meticulous attention to personal growth, and experiencing abundance through use of the mind.

Moon’s Nodes also align with the Jupiter-Chiron opposition throughout the month. Past experiences and karma, in a more spiritual sense, are of influence this month, particularly in relation to the idea of Chiron in Pisces’ “spiritual woundedness” and the redemption, sacrifice, and ultimate triumph he offers to those willing to face past (South Node) wounds (Chiron). Mercury zips by Neptune towards the end of the month, and the month ends with a beauteous Venus-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, both of whom will be squaring Saturn. Venus in Pisces has a great deal of empathy and compassion, especially when she is conjunct Neptune. The two work well together and they comprise a planetary pair. Of great interest, those who seek to experience Neptune’s bliss will have two convenient avenues at the end of the month: through Venus, by which relationships and collaboration might lead to joining with a greater collective; and via Saturn, in that discipline, responding to authority, and experiencing structure can help form a path to reaching Neptune’s effuse qualities. No doubt that organized religion, first and foremost, seems to reflect the Venus-Saturn-Neptune theme superbly.

Relationships

Venus tags behind Mercury for the duration of the month, and the two become a bit too wide for a conjunction several days before Venus ingresses into Pisces on March 12. Relationships, therefore, have a substantially cognitive feel for a decent portion of the month (Mercury conjunct Venus and Venus in Uranus’ sign both draw attention to meeting of the minds as a focus of relationships). Certainly friendships are of elevated importance with Venus in Aquarius, and Mercury-Venus in Aquarius gives a distinct impression of something such as mentoring being important. Venus begins to square Mars around March 3, and they remain square until the Sun enters Aries ingress (and of great interest, both change signs this month; the Venus-Mars square will manifest in three different ways during Sun in Pisces). Mars is stronger by sign in Scorpio, and he does reasonably well in a fire sign (Sagittarius). Venus, however, becomes much stronger in Pisces. The impression of progress in relationships, in many various ways, through doing difficult work, springs to mind. Feeling empathy is a plus for relationships towards the end of the month, and plenty of communication, learning, and spontaneity is favorable for relationships towards the month’s beginning. Mars in Scorpio does not lack passion! And in Sagittarius, he is rather flexible and adventurous. Plenty of personal drive and assertion are available in the transits, but Mars’ activity might test the more collaborative and harmonious parts of relationships. The square is tense, but is promising for progress in relationships, and Sun in Pisces is a convenient reminder of a greater purpose and faith playing a role in relationships.

Cupido (Transneptunian) moves into 27 Sagittarius this month. This is significant due to Cupido in the same degree as the Galactic Center. Marriage, family, togetherness, community, and social activities (discussing the finer points of an enjoyable work of art is very Cupido in Sagittarius, for example) manifest in unity with the purpose, wonder, and expansiveness of the galaxy. March 17 is a key date to consider these concepts with Sun in Pisces forming a square to Cupido, and bringing a spiritually conscious and intuitively creative type of influence to “galactic togetherness”. Juno in mid-Scorpio turns retrograde this month, and she remains at 14 Scorpio throughout the month. Thus she is set in place forming a trine to Neptune in Pisces, and she also trines Sun for about half of the month. Close relationships have an intensity and transformative quality with Juno manifesting through Scorpio. I like to think of the retrograde as an opportunity to evaluate what the planet/object/point symbolizes (with Juno, assessing the progress of, and one’s role in, various close relationships, including marriage). Rather than dread or fear any retrograde, I like to think of the retrograde as a useful opportunity to consolidate somehow and perhaps reflect in order to move forward when the planet/etc. goes direct.

The Aquarius energy is amenable to freedom. Venus in Aquarius is not antithetical to a committed relationship, but she also typically needs her space. Venus forms a sextile with Saturn from about February 25 to March 4. That gives the impression that while the pair does not mesh well (with the notable exception of relationships in career), perhaps Saturn counters a bit of the Aquarius energy and prompts Venus to consider the “controlled expansion” theme, invoking the best qualities of the two combined (something to the effect of discipline and structure paired with cooperation produces a greater volume of output). Venus also helps to form a yod pointing to Jupiter from about February 29 to March 6, linking the two benefics. Cooperatively enacting new ideas helps to bring about abundance.

Career

The “expanding power” theme, most relevant to work and career, in my view, becomes stronger this month, and contains a subtle influence from Saturn’s symbolism of structure and authority. The Pisces influence becomes very strong by the end of the month, therefore, while qualities of imagination and empathy might be useful in the workplace, giving extra attention to avoiding nebulous influences and misunderstandings is also advised. Generating new ideas and using collaboration for intellectual problem solving can be very effective towards the beginning of the month; this starts to change with the Mercury ingress into Pisces on March 5, and the airy effect evaporates when Venus enters Pisces a week later, once again leaving the transits void air.

Conflict at work is more of a concern this month, and the enduring Venus-Mars square is not the only reason for anticipating possible difficulties in relationships at work. Mars and Saturn start to conjunct in Sagittarius, a fiery sign, at the end of the month, and indeed Sun also squares Saturn during the month. Mars-Saturn is a remarkable combination for achievement and output, but the nature of the two don’t mesh well. Finding productive outlets for the fiery Mars helps his better qualities to show, and working to meet the better qualities of Saturn keeps him from being overly restrictive in regards to activity in work or elsewhere. Jupiter continues to show up in the transits, however (note the four planet stellium in Pisces, and Mars entering Jupiter’s sign). Jupiter helps to mitigate some of the tougher qualities of the various planets and also assists with keeping the big picture in mind, and working towards gains and success.

Bringing new ideas and creativity to organizational efforts, through collaboration and cooperation, is a potent theme based on the Uranus-Zeus opposition that lasts until about March 12. I see themes in the transits that contradict the insistence of Pisces regarding endings, but perhaps the contradicting themes can work well together. “Initiating endings” or other somewhat paradoxical phrases suit the transits well this month in regards to career and work. Part of the function of Pisces is clearing the way for new cycles (obviously), but the sense of letting go of the familiar can be difficult and that is part of the reason Pisces is about faith. Thus another related aspect of Pisces is the ability to adapt and flex to new situations. Justifying dropping or ending a project through offering and embracing something that is better (more efficient, costs less with a better result, etc.) has better than average chances to be effective this month with the “initiating versus ending” theme.

I also like Jupiter opposite the planets in Pisces this month, particularly for career. Jupiter in Virgo is a theme of his own pertaining to work (“expanding efficiently”, “growth via analysis and precise actions”). He also serves as a reminder (consciously, spiritually, logically, and through relationships) that attention to detail, while also looking at the big picture, can be a tremendous source of growth.

Finance

The Pisces influence gives the impression of buying something you’ve always wanted, no matter how large or small the item. Mercury in Aquarius, fully out of the retrograde shadow period at the beginning of the month, seems best for making purchases. What doesn’t have a chip in it these days? Mercury in Aquarius is a perfect benefactor regarding buying electronics, mechanical items, or other technological goods. I see nothing wrong with buying large-ticket items after Mercury enters Pisces, however, caution is advised in several ways regarding Mercury in Pisces, especially conjunct Neptune. Deceit is possible, but more so foggy communication and lack of understanding exactly what is being purchased or the terms of the sale become more likely. Venus tagging along with Mercury for a substantial part of the month also suggests that consulting friends or reaching out to people (via the internet, in particular) for advice and what their experience with a product or service might be is probably worth the effort.

On a more personal note, I have been considering studying Elliott waves. Christeen Skinner offers an excellent (although very general) monthly newsletter, free, that is worth checking into for those who follow the markets. I am shocked by the amount of free information on the internet given by prognosticators; the caution is that based on my own experience, I can say that you still have to learn how to use the information and find the courage, will, or tenacity to act at the appropriate times and that is not easy to do! Perhaps some people reading this are more natural at reading the markets and reaping above market gains than I am. These days I’m hearing comments such as “the Fed [and other monetary authorities] is out of bullets”. Nothing is wrong with saving money for dire emergencies, even if it’s only a few hundred dollars. What will happen in 2016? Other than electing a new President, nothing is certain, but research and using your good sense might help preserve your assets.

Thanks for joining the cosmic ride with me this month. Ancillary comments about the Pisces energy are below. Happy solar return to friends with Sun in Pisces! See you next month. Mike

Have you ever felt the Pisces energy? A friend leaves, or a family member dies…all cycles inevitably end. Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, is a watery sign. Emotions experienced from endings can run very deep to the core of our souls! And true to the Pisces energy, endings require adjusting. The reward from successfully completing a cycle, or simply witnessing the end of a cycle, is derived from transcending our current selves, even if it means assimilating painful experiences. The hope, courage, and anticipation that accompanies the start of a new cycle (associated with Aries) is a result of ending the previous cycle. The wisdom and understanding gained from experiencing a full cycle makes new cycles more productive, encouraging, conscious, and purposeful.

Triple Water Astrology – The Critical Degree! Weekly Horoscope – Week Starting Friday, February 19, 2016

Please like my page at http://www.facebook.com/triplewaterastrology!

As Mars draws nearer to the end of Scorpio this week, Sun enters Pisces, and Mercury and Venus reside in early degrees of Aquarius. Mercury sprints forward in his tutor’s (Uranus’) sign, and helps form a yod with his intellectual overseer that points to Jupiter. Logical thought, connected with flashes of insight, points to Jupiter’s wisdom, abundance, and optimism. Thus using the mind in an effort to connect with Jupiter’s qualities can be particularly effective in work (the Virgo influence) and in looking forward to the future (the influence of North Node, conjunct Jupiter). The outlet of the yod, roughly speaking, is Chiron in Pisces. Sun conjunct Neptune this week emphasizes “conscious spirituality” and Chiron’s influence via the yod at the end of the week is encouraging for assimilating past experiences in order to create a perspective of one’s own individual spirituality.

Jupiter slowly grinds backwards in the Virgo sign, and a wide mutable t-square begins to form by the end of the week, among Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. Jupiter and Saturn’s “controlled expansion” theme integrates Neptune’s idealistic and imaginative qualities. The t-square, particularly with Saturn at the focal point, is a stark reminder that exhaustive efforts will likely be demanded of those who desire to access the better manifestations of the three supernal giants. However, of great interest, all three of the planets in the t-square contain a Jupiter influence: Jupiter himself; Saturn in Jupiter’s sign, Sagittarius; and Neptune in his home sign, Pisces, traditionally ruled by Jupiter. Therefore the yod and t-square signify opportunities to expand interests and attain personal growth, if the appropriate amount of work is exerted and if a person can be open-minded and flexible in the midst of various challenges.

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

Aries

The Aries sign is about beginnings and initiating new cycles. Sun begins his residence in Pisces this week, drawing attention to endings. Aries Sun’s fiery, assertive, and active nature is not necessarily averse to endings, however. This week contains opportunities to complete projects and endeavors, while accessing the vibes in the transits that allow your bright light to shine. A subtle, but strong, influence for Aries this week is a sense of commitment and dedication to what you focus your energy towards, with the beginning of the week as most opportune for using this theme. While Jupiter is most influential in the transits at the end of the week, he is most influential for Aries at the beginning. Therefore opportunities that expand your influence and encourage personal growth have the best chances for you around February 19 and 20. The end of the week also portends a favorable theme for you. February 25 has a nice theme of togetherness, community, and enjoying the more social side of life in store for Aries. Final thought for Aries: in terms of drawing issues or projects to a close, seeking assistance may be necessary.

Taurus

Examining details of the past is a brief, but sharp, theme that starts the week for Taurus Sun. February 19 and 20 are promising for solving lingering issues by examining root causes and rearranging and fixing parts of a whole in order to rectify, correct, or even salvage a project or personal issue. Thus the influence of the mind – logic, reasoning, and sifting through ideas – that is of heightened importance during the week for Taurus might be especially useful at the week’s start. The week also contains a feel of using “applied theory” for Taurus, which grows stronger as the week progresses. Creatively using what is at your disposal might prove invaluable as you forge ahead during the week. Watch for opportunities to show leadership and use your area of expertise, in career or more personal activities, on February 23 and 24. February 24 has potential as a more spiritual type day for you, with idealistic qualities and a sense of belonging to a greater whole melding with the “authority through specialization” theme on that day. Taurus has a week filled with variety and likely being “on the go”. Final thought for Taurus: the feeling from contributing to a group can give your week a boost.

Gemini

The opportunity for Gemini Sun to use an elevated “mind” theme this week is one not to be missed. If you play your cards well, the best time of the week to experience returns from efforts made to cogitate solutions to problems, meet minds with other people, and turn intuition into actions that result in accomplishment is at the end of it. Therefore, the beginning of the week is perhaps best used to plan what you want to accomplish by its end. Relationships by and large feel friendly for Gemini this week and remain as an influence all week. Close relationships have a more intense feel and require extra effort for Gemini, especially in the second half of the week, but they can also be more productive. Close relationships are perhaps best relied on as a source of support in work and career this week. February 22 is a powerful day for Gemini. Use of the mind has greater potential in accessing wisdom, using theory, and thinking of creative ways to reach large groups of people, if you so choose. Watch for ways to make your hard work during the week pay off around February 25, particularly at work and through discerning issues and problems in terms of both the big picture and the details therein. Final thought for Gemini: no additional insights for Gemini this week.

Cancer

The week has its uplifting days for Cancer Sun, including February 19, and February 23 and 24. Sun entering the Pisces sign also works reasonably well for Cancer, due to Sun transiting through a watery sign. Cancer is an initiating sign, and Pisces is about endings, thus attention given to the subtle contradiction might be of benefit for you in determining what to either start or finish this week. February 20 and 21 are opportune for both enjoyment and productive action, and using creativity in order to merge a sense of accomplishment with leisure time. The second half of the week becomes more about work, but with a sense of abundance and expansion generally associated with it. February 23 is a peak day this week for Cancer; experiencing successes, particularly in work and through attention to detail, is an uplifting theme during mid-week. Watch for opportunities on February 25 to benefit from smooth social interactions and meet minds with colleagues in order to achieve objectives. Final thought for Cancer: this week has a somewhat hackneyed, but true nonetheless, theme of “knowledge is power” for Cancer, especially if you can find a way to practically apply theory.

Leo

February 19, and more so February 20, are dynamic days of the week for Leo Sun. Your strong personal core has an added element of unconscious creativity at the beginning of the week. The airy planetary placements opposite of your Sun’s sign, particularly Mercury, contribute to a theme of learning and using the mind to benefit throughout the week. The first two days of the week are opportune for looking sharp, creating a favorable impression based on what you know, and using personal versatility in order to experience increasing returns in career or other endeavors. February 22 shifts your week towards a more earthy, detail-oriented approach to life. Past experience and focusing on meticulously finding solutions to problems becomes more important in the middle of the week. Leo also has access to a potent “spiritual nurturing” theme that might be of benefit either to yourself, or those who cross your path as the week progresses. Final thought for Leo: in evolving situations, allying with those who share common interests is obviously of potential benefit.

Virgo

Transiting Sun, just having entered the Pisces sign, is in the sign opposite of your Sun’s. A theme of “spiritual service” takes effect for Virgo Sun this week, which is especially strong with Sun conjunct Neptune in his home sign. Reaching towards a greater collective and experiencing spirituality through relationships is of increased potential for Virgo. Relationships are certainly a welcome influence in other areas of life as well, and support from various relationships continues throughout the week for you. The watery theme, strongest at the beginning of the week, succumbs to more of a “mind” theme by the end of the week. February 25 is the best day of the week for Virgo to access the expansive and growth-oriented qualities of Jupiter in your Sun’s sign, via new ideas, brainstorming, and exchanging ideas with other people. Therefore projects that require your natural analytical ability, as well as an overview of their entirety, have best chances for success around February 25. February 25 is also a day for using sharp perspectives and initiating change that might be to your benefit. Final thought for Virgo: a long standing theme of “consciously forming connections” in order to develop career or other interests continues this week – be sure to take advantage of it!

Libra

The action in the transits this week is largely at the end of it for Libra Sun. The “mind” theme works well throughout the week for Libra, however, and February 20 brings a potentially useful theme for you consisting of “creative thought”. Close relationships begin to enter the picture for Libra as the week continues; they might either become more prominent in work and career, or act as a source of support regarding professional efforts. The “spiritual nurturing” theme affects Libra on February 24, a powerful opportunity to either give or receive spiritual sustenance and experience compassion. February 25 is a day of using your strong proclivity to balance to instinctually relate to other people and experience unity in relationships. Authority taps Libra on the shoulder a bit around February 23, but it’s a good opportunity to use grounding and structure to help accomplish what you need to this week. Final thought for Libra: extra attention given to how something is said helps determine motives.

Scorpio

Scorpio Sun has a reasonably varied week, with an uplifting type of outlook. A theme of finding meaning and support through close relationships is perhaps the strongest theme this week for Scorpio. Changing situations and accruing sharp perspectives through flashes of insight and considering new ideas is also a strong theme for you this week, as it has been for some time, and February 24 and 25 complement this well with an additional theme of “disciplined thought”. Authority, particularly in work and career, might feel heavy towards the end of the week, but ultimately navigating authority and structure well contains promise for expanding your interests and receiving appropriate compensation for your efforts. Intuiting the reasons for why someone takes a certain action, or more instinctually and emotionally connecting with someone is influential for Scorpio on February 23, particularly in the area of work and career. Rigorous efforts made to embrace and utilize some type of area or activity in your life that you’re passionate about and dedicated to is a waning theme this week, thus you may want to consider how to use it to full effect in this first week of transiting Sun in Pisces. Final thought for Scorpio: pursuing or eluding foes becomes a prominent concern for Scorpio this week.

Sagittarius

A reasonable amount of intensity and will to action is available to Sagittarius Sun this week, particularly towards the beginning of it. Sun entering Pisces is of interest for Sagittarius…while transiting Sun is squaring your natal Sun by sign, Sun in Pisces also contains a Jupiter influence. The watery nature of Pisces Sun clashes with your fiery core, but the Jupiter influence is favorable for you. Learning, cogitating abstract concepts, and attention given to the wisdom attained by the end of a cycle all flow well for Sagittarius with Sun in Pisces, and perhaps the square can be of benefit by prompting inner work and external effort. As with several of the other Sun signs this week, a fair amount of action takes place for Sagittarius towards the end of it. Heightened use of the mind, and using imagination to work towards what you idealize, are favorable themes for Sagittarius around February 24 and 25. The week cannot be described as carefree for Sagittarius. However, you are in a favorable position to access the “controlled expansion” theme if you persistently work towards your objectives and goals, however distant they might seem to be. Final thought for Sagittarius: a combination of patience and repetition is key – Pisces Sun conjunct Neptune is demanding faith, in becoming skilled or adept in drawing an activity to completion.

Capricorn

The “mind” theme becomes rather strong for Capricorn Sun, beginning on about February 22. Your natural sense of discipline and drive towards achievement blends well with cogitating what might be the best strategy to achieve objectives, and then taking action. Close relationships become more influential for Capricorn, in the sense that developing your power base and navigating change tend to involve those in close relationships with you. All of the themes working for Capricorn this week exist under the overarching “controlled expansion” theme, in which deliberate, industrious efforts, your forte, help to achieve an eventual successful result. Of interest, a very feminine type of theme happens to fall into place for Capricorn this week. A combination of active dedication, compassionately providing for others, quick and creative intellect, and judiciously using power for mutual benefit, helps Capricorn access the uplifting and expansive energies in the transits this week. Final thought for Capricorn: passionately facing challenges can help you stretch your limits this week.

Aquarius

Fiery dedication and determined focus continues as a theme for Aquarius Sun this week. Pisces Sun adds a subtheme of sorts, suggesting that active commitment to work and other important activities have an element of idealism or faith attached. This week is keen for using your airy intellect. The strongest day of the week for using intuition, new ideas, and written resources is February 25, but the theme works well for Aquarius all week. Another theme that works well all week, and best at the end, is one of using collaboration and teamwork in order to focus efforts effectively, increase output through creative means, and taking immediate action in order to achieve goals. Structure is influential for Aquarius this week. Despite your preference for freedom over restriction, bear in mind that structure and authority tend to be reasonably approachable for you this week, and that responding to internal and external authority can result in benefits that outweigh the costs. Final thought for Aquarius: searching for new ideas can be more effective than usual in handling challenges this week.

Pisces

Happy solar return to Pisces Sun! Transiting Sun entering the last sign of the zodiac marks another solar cycle for you, with Sun conjuncting his ruler no less. The “spiritual nurturing” theme is very strong for Pisces this week, and fits your Sun well. Perhaps you will intuit creative and imaginative ways to give and receive spiritual sustenance this week. A brief, subtle, and strong theme of using intellect and communication, to a greater than average effect, occurs for Pisces on February 20. February 23 to 25 contains another subtle, but longer lasting theme, of creating favorable impressions and generating new ideas via relationships, particularly with casual friends or people you have recently made acquaintances with. The watery, imaginative qualities exuding from the heavens, so familiar and attuned to your Sun, also contain an earthy influence during this week that might be used to benefit. Showing leadership, using structure and responding to it, and creating organization might be used to positive effect in work and career, or in more personal endeavors, that utilize your natural creativity, empathy, and other watery qualities. Final thought for Pisces: carefully guarding confidential information may later be of great benefit, in helping you determine the correct path forward.

Aquarius Sun will be hovering on the Aquarius/Pisces cusp at the very end of this week. Mercury enters the Aquarius sign early in the week, and Venus pursues Mercury all week and joins him and Sun in Uranus’ sign closer to the week’s end. Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune each continue creaking either forwards or backwards in their current signs, and this week the trio begins to form a vague t-square in mutable signs pointing to Saturn. Jupiter’s expansive qualities clash with Saturn’s nature to restrict; and Neptune, in his home sign, begins to influence Jupiter and Saturn’s “controlled expansion” theme. While the strong Neptune dominates the pattern, Saturn is emphasized: using discipline and responding well to structure introduces the possibility of using creativity and imagination in order to utilize the power of the Jupiter-Saturn square. Most certainly, effort must be made to implement the powerful theme, but the t-square also suggests that the greatest potential gains can be realized from doing the necessary work. In addition to the creative element emerging, the pattern suggests that adapting in various ways to difficulties, and finding alternative methods to approaching a problem, in order to attain a solution, is integral to the symbolism of the mutable t-square.

Mercury in his tutor’s (Uranus’) sign, Aquarius, has its advantages. Freedom of thought, frank and open communication, and using innovative methods to solving logical problems are several of Mercury’s attributes when he transits through Aquarius. Venus in Aquarius gives the impression of a wide circle of contacts and the opportunity form connections with people with different views or from different backgrounds. The week shifts to a much more Uranian feel, with an eclectic circle of influences and new ideas becoming more prominent, with the Mercury and Venus joining Sun in Aquarius.

Mars remains steadfast and strong in the Scorpio sign, and he forms an exact sextile to Jupiter on February 13. Jupiter is somewhat muted in the Virgo sign, but he is still Jupiter. Mars paired with Jupiter this week opens doors for devoting plenty of determined energy to projects and activities that expand interests, particularly in the area of work. The planets are somewhat spread out this week among the signs, and with two planets changing signs (in addition to Moon), each of the four elements has a roughly equal representation in the zodiac. How apropos for Sun transiting through the end of the Aquarius sign – it’s as though he’s saying that’s the way things should be!

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

Aries

The week has a generally upbeat feel for Aries Sun, with a peak day on February 13. Aries starts the week with a short-lived theme, occurring on February 12, of experiencing transitions and assimilating new perspectives. As the Sun completes his transit through the Aquarius sign this week, Aries is well attuned to the fixed, airy qualities of Sun in Aquarius. Making determined efforts to engage the mind, implement new ideas, and form alliances is promising for drawing closer to goals and aspirations. A theme of looking at the past, in terms of assessing how different choices might have produced alternate outcomes, can be effective in determining what direction to take now in order to derive greatest benefit in the future. Aries also has a theme that lasts throughout the week, of expressing dedication to what you believe in, or feel compelled to accomplish, strongest at the beginning of the week. Final thought for Aries: providing assistance and support, with a “pay it forward” approach, is a strong theme for Aries this week.

Taurus

The first half of the week is upbeat and contains a feeling of expansion for Taurus Sun. This week has plenty of opportunities for Taurus through networking, learning, and using logic to solve problems, particularly in work and career. The first half of the week feels more business like for you; the second half still pertains to work, but has a more social feel mixed in. February 15 is an outstanding day for creating foundations, and utilizing available resources in order to influence events and reach goals. February 17 is another key date for Taurus; business acumen, applying what you learn, and exuding charm help to amalgamate efforts made earlier in the week, to help increase what you strive towards in work and career, or other areas of life. Sun in Aquarius squaring your Sun by sign for one last week, until Sun enters Leo, is a last chance to make a determined effort to finish important projects and create a heightened focus on obtaining what you want or need. Final thought for Taurus: in unfamiliar situations, seeking someone who is also new to the scenario might be helpful in navigating it.

Gemini

Mercury, your Sun’s ruler, enters the Aquarius sign this week. Mercury in an airy sign is definitely of interest for Gemini Sun. Thought takes on a more liberated quality starting on February 13. Flashes of insight and volumes of new ideas are two potentially powerful attributes of Mercury in Aquarius that Gemini might latch on to. Looking at the big picture and developing practical ways of using theories are useful themes that develop this week for Gemini, and they become stronger as the week progresses. February 14 is an expansive type of day in which looking your best, using your natural gift of communication, and persistently working towards objectives helps increase your influence and reap dividends from your efforts. Relationships are influential for Gemini all week, and brainstorming, seeking innovative ways to complete projects through cooperating, and networking with a wide variety of people can help you have a successful week. Final thought for Gemini: in depth communication with another person can be an unexpected source of enlightenment.

Cancer

Careful dedication to what you choose to focus on, and aligning with Uranus’ influence of revolution, spontaneity, and intuitive thought, gives Cancer Sun a running start to the week on February 12. The week quickly turns to concentrating on work. Watch for a potentially lucrative day on February 14 if you can manage to navigate career opportunities well. Responding to structure is a theme that comprises the bulk of your week, but that certainly can have its bright spots. For example, look for a chance to benefit from the long-standing “controlled expansion” theme on February 16, most likely of greatest use in career, but having applications to personal goals and avocations as well. February 17 and 18 are much more watery and comfortable for Cancer. Finding security and enjoying family and the comforts of home are welcome themes at the end of the week, as well as the opportunity to reaps the benefits of efforts made earlier in the week. Final thought for Cancer: working towards attaining insight can help you develop inner strength this week.

Leo

Will, drive, and determination to surmount obstacles and complete objectives through hard work is a tough, but productive, theme for Leo Sun this week. The first several days of the week additionally have a component of added dedication and possibility of “digging deep” in order to attain what you want or need, if you are willing to give the effort. The first few days of the week also have a subtle, optimistic type of influence that is encouraging and orientated towards expansion. February 15 is a respite from the tense feel in the transits for Leo, in which you can enjoy togetherness and community with friends and family. February 17 is “back to the grind”, but don’t discount the opportunity to use persistence and past experience, along with a mighty push, in order to create lasting accomplishments this week. Mercury and Venus opposite your Sun by sign add an element of using contacts in innovative ways in order to achieve goals. Final thought for Leo: relating to those who have similar interests might help you accomplish a lot this week.

Virgo

February 12 is an ideal day for goal-setting and crafting strategies to attain them for Virgo Sun. Wrapping up loose ends through initiating unstarted projects also works well on February 12, if it’s practical to do so. Virgo also has two key dates to focus on, in terms of expanding and multiplying efforts: February 12, and February 14. As the week progresses, Virgo has increased opportunities for combining creativity and original ideas with step-by-step problem solving. Forming alliances for mutual benefit is another useful theme that lasts throughout the week, and cooperation has a more serious and structured feel, appropriate for work and career, in the first half of the week, and a more enjoyable, social feel in the second half of it. February 16 is opportune for dealing with lingering issues, deriving solutions to problems based on examination of past details, and making subtle but critical adjustments to current processes. Final thought for Virgo: assessing whether or not a project is worth continuing might save valuable resources this week.

Libra

The beginning of the week has an expansive feel for Libra Sun, particularly in terms of your future direction. Using discipline and responding to structure, in order to attain useful perspectives and increase your personal power, is also a valuable theme in the first few days of the week. February 13 is probably the most enjoyable day of the week for Libra. Identifying with and participating in various groups with common interests can help keep you busy and fulfilled, and resounds well with Sun in late Aquarius. This week, especially later in the week, is geared towards using the mind. Logical problem solving, collecting information, and expressing your point of view becomes more influential for Libra this week; also watch for an added amount of personal insight and wisdom in thought and communication starting around February 16. Final thought for Libra: no additional insights for Libra this week.

Scorpio

Increased competition, personal drive, and activity start the week for Scorpio Sun. Relationships are also more influential than average at the beginning of the week. Be quick to implement increased assertion, along with career opportunities based on forming and maintaining relationships, to start your week quickly and productively. Scorpio is also going through an extended time, that lasts throughout the week, of support via close relationships. Although the usual amount of effort is required to maintain close relationships, they also generally flow smoothly. Scorpio has this last week of Sun in Aquarius squaring your Sun by sign for this year. Transitions, adapting to changes via use of the mind, and dealing with disruptions or unexpected occurrences, continues to have a greater than average impact on Scorpio this week, but the opportunities to engage in fresh starts, gain new perspectives, and find innovative ways to transform one’s self productively are not to be missed. Structure and authority also start to subtly creep into the picture for Scorpio by the end of the week, but bear in mind that established foundations help navigate change, even if they ultimately crumble. Final thought for Scorpio: finding the cause of a problem may require steady and persistent pursuit of it.

Sagittarius

The Jupiter-Saturn “controlled expansion” theme continues to become more influential for Sagittarius Sun this week. A new theme based on Saturn and Uranus also enters the picture for Sagittarius. Saturn creates the feel of a heavy week. Saturn’s residence in your Sun’s sign definitely has its advantages, however. Finding the right mix of structure and revolution, or integrating new ideas with established methods, can be effectively combined with the “controlled expansion” theme. Thus the week becomes a matter of determining what direction you want to move towards, and creating opportunities in order to arrive at your destination. Strong, fixed personal drive is a plus for Sagittarius this week, and strongest on February 13. A combination of your natural proclivity to seek new experiences, along with a sense of dedication, passion and intensity, forming discipline, and integrating novel ideas into your activities, in the right mix, can help propel you forward this week. Final thought for Sagittarius: consulting a person of higher learning or wisdom can be awe-inspiring this week.

Capricorn

Capricorn Sun wistfully bids farewell to both Mercury and Venus in Capricorn this week. Thus, Pluto will be the lone planet in your Sun’s sign once again. Taking advantage of the earthy influence in the transits early in the week would be prudent for Capricorn, and reflecting on the power of Pluto manifesting via your Sun’s sign also has its benefits. How might your natural talent for creating and using structure help to increase your perspectives and develop your personal power? Capricorn also has access to an “expanding knowledge” theme this week, which Sun in Aquarius supports well. As Sun prepares to leave Aquarius, assessing how to implement learning and new ideas over this past month is also a useful exercise for Capricorn. February 15 and 16 have a stronger than average relationships influence for you, particularly in meeting minds, exchanging information, and networking. Final thought for Capricorn: passion and zest for life can be useful in helping you surpass your limits this week.

Aquarius

Aquarius Sun has VIP access to the Jupiter-Saturn “controlled expansion” theme this week, as your solar return month draws to a close. The vitality and consciousness of the core of the solar system resonating for you in the transits, via your natal Sun placement, has been accompanied by Jupiter and Saturn’s theme, which can be expressed in many ways (“disciplined growth”, “abundance through working with structure”). Making the effort to implement the better qualities of both planets, and finding productive uses for the tough square, is an apt challenge for your Sun’s inventive, cognitive qualities. Another useful and long-lasting theme that emerges for Aquarius this week is focusing energy, acting immediately, and showing leadership in order to achieve objectives, particularly by using creativity while operating within established parameters. Mercury and Venus entering your Sun’s sign this week encourages friendly meeting of the minds and networking in order to exchange new ideas. Final thought for Aquarius: pertaining to the Mercury/Venus theme this week, new friends can be a source of wisdom and help spur creative thoughts.

Pisces

Transiting Sun will be at the very end of Aquarius at the end of the week. Anticipation of your solar return month becomes very strong, as does the anticipation of all of the signs, awaiting Sun entering the last sign of the zodiac. Yet Sun remains in the airy Aquarius sign this week. Close relationships continue to flow smoothly for Pisces Sun this week, and they contain a sense of both providing and receiving care and nurturing. A feeling of comfort and security is particularly strong in close relationships on February 18 for Pisces. Other than a continuing focus on specialization, authority through either title or expertise, and potential for reaching high levels of achievement in your niche, Pisces is somewhat removed from the activity in the transits this week. Even with significant, excitable activity in the transits this week, including Sun and two other planets in Aquarius, Pisces might choose to gather energy, reflect, and ponder in preparation of Sun once again entering your Sun’s sign in a week. Final thought for Pisces: being direct, although counterintuitive in some situations, may generate better outcomes.

Triple Water Astrology – The Critical Degree! Weekly Horoscope – Week Starting Friday, February 5, 2016

The week begins with a four-planet stellium in the Capricorn sign, containing Moon, Pluto, Venus, and Mercury. The planetary quadruplet in Saturn’s sign forms trines with Jupiter in Virgo on February 5 and 6. As Saturn slowly drifts through the middle of Jupiter’s sign, attention is called to Saturn due to his residence in the fiery, mutable Sagittarius sign, his square to Jupiter, and the four planets in the dour titan’s earthy sign at the beginning of the week forming a harmonious link to the enervated Jupiter, in classical detriment and retrograde. Jupiter and Saturn, continuing to slowly form a stronger square aspect, embody the long-standing “controlled expansion” theme in the heavens. Those willing to give the necessary effort might realize substantial gains, albeit gains hard won and slow to materialize. Then again, creating solid foundations and exhibiting patience has potential to turn the smallest amounts into massive volumes (the fable of the king granting a wish to consecutively double one grain on a chess board every day, for sixty-four days, soon regretted his promise! And the square this week is reasonably analogous of this concept).

Thinking about such an idea is well suited for Sun in Aquarius, and he is rather busy this week. Most notable, perhaps, is his square to the intense Mars in Scorpio that lasts throughout the week. Powerful will and passionate action are in tension with Aquarius Sun’s more thoughtful and individual style; but reconciling the two suggests that change, initiated by the mind and sustained through emotion, help make a difference in the world this week.

Sun also forms an exact sextile to his sign’s ruler, Uranus, early in the week. Of interest, Vesta (asteroid lady) is also closely conjunct Uranus all week. Thus a very conscious sense of initiating change and implementing innovative ideas align with a feeling of fiery dedication and determined resilience this week. February 6 and 7 contain an unusual and rare feature with four planets, Sun, Venus, Mars, and Uranus, along with Chiron and Vesta, aspecting Zeus (Transneptunian). What a fantastic day for working towards and reaching goals! Quick, purposeful action, and adapting creatively to existing structures, with a sharp focus and concentration of energy, is an effective manifestation of the power of Zeus. Individual drive, cooperation, conscious innovation, fiery individualism, commitment, and a bit of forging your own path mixed with the Zeus energies falls neatly into place with the Jupiter-Saturn “controlled expansion” theme in the background. Sun making an exact aspect to Jupiter-North Node in Virgo at the end of the week gives an upbeat emphasis on personal growth and future direction, rounding out an exhausting but potentially productive week.

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

Aries

The big picture of this week for Aries Sun gives the impression of finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, by the end of the week, if you manage to navigate the energies well. Your fiery Sun may be tested based on the demands of the week, but the efforts made to surmount obstacles this week are generally worth the potential rewards. Socializing and developing the mind flows well with the transiting Sun in Aquarius, and the “mind” theme is strong for Aries this week, with the most opportune day for thought, new ideas, and learning on February 5. February 5 to about February 7 has greater than average potential to use direct action and concentrated energy in the immediate moment in order to move aspirations forward. February 8 is an outstanding day for latching on to the “expanding power” theme in the heavens, particularly in work and career. Taking the initiative, asserting yourself, and even competing (obviously strong suits for you) with a sense of intense passion and sense of power can help create advantageous situations for you all week, most of all at mid-week. Aries also has the opportunity to move forward this week through various relationships, again, particularly in career, and support from close relationships remain as a fading, but present, theme for you this week. Final thought for Aries: an important new theme appears for Aries this week: how might you draw important issues to closure?

Taurus

The earthy influence in the transits is definitely a plus for Taurus Sun, especially at the beginning of the week (notice that if you have natal Sun in mid to late Taurus, it helps to form several earthy grand trines with Jupiter and the Capricorn stellium this week). This perhaps counterbalances Mars opposing and Sun squaring your Sun by signs. Thus a great deal of tension, with a productive outlet of using intense will and conscious thought to complete important objectives, is accompanied by a sense of ease and abundance associated with the material. As with Aries, Taurus may access the “expanding power” theme in the transits all week. Your natural proclivity for endurance and persistence might serve you quite well this week, with a significant amount of tension in the transits affecting Taurus. Sun in an airy sign, squaring your Sun by sign, contributes to the “mind” theme all week, with the strongest day for you on February 6. Brainstorming, new ideas, and abandoning conventional methods that no longer work will take effort, but commensurate rewards are also possible if the work is addressed. Social interactions and attention given to using the mind in order to network or generate opportunities is also stronger than average for Taurus this week, particularly in career. The week also has its watery side; looking at yourself, others, or situations from different points of view brings new perspectives and has a sense of touching spirit, around February 7. Final thought for Taurus: maintaining a sense of fairness in relationships is important for Taurus this week.

Gemini

A theme of ‘ease and abundance’ begins the week in the nicest way for Gemini Sun. Although the strongest day for this uplifting theme is on February 5, it lasts all week, and is most propitious in the areas of work and career. Gemini is also largely outside of more difficult influences based on this week’s transits, another blessing. The exception is the demanding work necessary for generating and using new ideas. Even so, transiting Sun forming a trine to your Sun by sign takes the edge off of this harsh influence for you, and suggests decent gains are in store when you manage to use flashes of insight to arrive more quickly at optimal solutions (and as with many of the signs this week, this is most useful for Gemini in career). The week builds up into possibilities for creating a stable base by the end of it, given appropriate efforts made in earlier days. Also watch for a quick, but significant, ‘togetherness’ theme on February 10. Acting as part of a community, while both generating favorable vibes and expanding your interests, tends to work very well for Gemini this week, with the most promising day on February 10. Final thought for Gemini: a combination of timing and intuition, along with your gift of communicative abilities, just might help seal a deal or otherwise help you benefit from various situations this week.

Cancer

This is a rather achievement oriented week for Cancer Sun, particularly at its beginning. Efforts made to create thoughtful alliances, cogitate perspectives, and use pragmatic instinct lead to potential advantages in career and perhaps other areas of life on February 5 and 6. Cancer’s watery receptivity, security-oriented nature, and other qualities, become electrified around February 7 and 8. A feeling of unity with the Aquarius energies in mid-week gives Cancer a boost. Participating in gatherings, brainstorming, and assimilating new ideas for immediate or later use works well for enjoyment and perhaps also in career, creating a beneficial ‘career’ theme that you might benefit from for a substantial portion of this week. The remainder of the week is ideal for assessing what needs closure, and finishing it, and then using available time and other resources to initiate new projects and push new ideas forward. February 9 is opportune for imagining what you want, and February 10 is apropos for passionately attempting to obtain it. Cancer has a busy and varied week. Final thought for Cancer: while reality must always be a priority, consider the benefits of using theory this week in order to help formulate ideas and assist with implementing practical solutions to problems.

Leo

The opportunity for Leo Sun to use “amped up” drive and will, within set parameters or under established structures, in order to stretch your limits, is one not to be passed up in the first few days of the week. Moreover, a sense of using innovative ideas, technology, and consulting people or resources containing necessary knowledge can help Leo achieve breakthroughs at the start of the week. Your leadership qualities have a chance to shine brightly on February 7, particularly when you are part of a pair (as opposed to being part of a group). February 7 is also the first day of an optimistic, growth-oriented rest of the week for you. Using passionate drive, will, and determination, along with breaking from convention and acting spontaneously, helps generate opportunities that lead to success and perhaps personal growth. February 7, and especially February 8, contain potential for combining conscious thought and instinctive intuition in order to generate the best solutions to problems or find novel approaches to handling difficult challenges. Close relationships require more work than average this week, but also contain a great deal of passion. Final thought for Leo: anticipating problems at the beginning of a project or task can be most helpful in determining how to proceed (including choosing not to continue).

Virgo

February 5 gives the sense of a running start to the week for Virgo Sun, with your natal Sun forming trines to four planets by sign during the first two days of the week, along with Jupiter steadfastly moving backwards in your Sun’s sign. A theme of “perspectives through relationships” lasts basically throughout the week for you, with the strongest influence towards the beginning of the week. Sharp analysis of people and situations, and devoted efforts in forming new contacts and nourishing existing ones, is of emphasis this week, and obviously auspicious for work and career, although this theme might be applied to all areas of life. Authority and structure affect Virgo this week but in a more indirect manner. The airy Sun in Aquarius, therefore, contains a bit of influence for you, useful for experimenting with ideas and considering how expressing your unique qualities might be of benefit. This “uniqueness” theme is strongest at the beginning of the week. Also consider how actions taken on February 5 can set the tone for the rest of the week, as it’s reasonable to say that day is the keystone of Virgo’s week. Bear in mind that the week is also generally upbeat and potentially enjoyable, in addition to activity based on work and career! Final thought for Virgo: no additional insights for Virgo this week.

Libra

Power week” describes this week aptly for Libra Sun! The smooth connection from your natal Sun to transiting Sun by sign is just the starting point for increased opportunities to focus energy and build your personal power this week. The best day for using a combination of intense personal drive and ambition, implementing a sense of grounded power and bringing about effective change, and creatively using ideas and relationships in order to reach objectives is February 7. Initiating change and proposing new ideas or methods of work is another strong theme for Libra this week, with a peak day on February 6. Change, and its accompanying disruptions, usually requires great effort to implement and maintain. However, a logical, structured approach is probably your best ally, in addition to your natural people skills, in order to create meaningful, lasting, and necessary change. February 9 is an ideal day for seeking wisdom and understanding, or considering the ethics of situations if such a need arises. Final thought for Libra: making exceptions might be called for in certain situations, but beware of “slippery slopes” as a result.

Scorpio

The week is first and foremost about relationships for Scorpio Sun. Unity in relationships is a powerful theme for your transformative sign on February 5; affecting and shaping events through various contacts and relationships is of potential benefit at the beginning of the week, particularly in work and career. Scorpio might also take advantage of a “mind” theme early in the week, which again has potential for creating effective change – Sun in Aquarius squaring your natal Sun by sign is an effective catalyst for using thought to help alter self, others, or situations. Also of potential benefit this week for you (and most effective in the first half of the week) is use of logic and communication in pairs or groups, in order to generate alternative approaches to problem solving. Meeting minds with other people also contains potential for sudden insights and revelations that contain effective solutions to difficult problems. If you initiate a dedicated, committed, active approach to problem solving, and are willing to exert extra effort in using the mind, the potential for accomplishment this week is outstanding. A paradoxical combination of self-reliance and support from those in close relationships is also a potentially useful theme for Scorpio this week. Final thought for Scorpio: take extra care this week to guard your interests against foes.

Sagittarius

Of interest, Sagittarius Sun has the influences of the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) at your disposal throughout the week. Therefore day-to-day concerns tend to be most prominent this week. For example, interacting with the immediate environment and using a step-by-step, logical approach to problem solving tends to generate better than average results for you. Working with structure and authority also influences Sagittarius to a decent extent this week. Tending to details and being service-oriented helps your active and adaptable Sun successfully face challenges and appease authority, however. Friendships and other types of relationships give Sagittarius a valuable sense of perspective and assist with developing your power base. The week is not lacking in passion for you either; viewing perspectives from the vantage point of someone else, for example, prompts your own desires and ambitions in attaining what you want or need this week. Creating change or adapting to it, while aiming to consciously achieve your objectives, resonates as an effective theme for Sagittarius this week. February 10 is the best opportunity for you to implement it. Final thought for Sagittarius: be ready to jump into a project or activity at a moment’s notice.

Capricorn

Four planets in your Sun’s sign at the beginning of the week has its benefits. Capricorn Sun also has opportunities based on almost half of the planets in earth signs throughout the week. A powerful theme of attaining insight based on the perspectives of other people is a theme not to be missed on February 5. Tapping into your personal power, combined with being aligned with your ideals, in order to accomplish objectives, is another potentially productive theme that lasts throughout the week for you. Aquarius Sun is co-ruled by your Sun’s ruler, Saturn. However, the Uranian influence is more prominent for Capricorn this week, with Sun transiting through Aquarius. The airy, electrical influence jolts your grounded Sun this week, and new ideas, new friends, and expressing your unique qualities flow for Capricorn more than average all week. Close relationships exert a subtle, but intense, influence for you from about February 8 to 11. Also, notably, when you actively maintain a frame of mind that is dedicated and focused, original ideas and flashes of insight become most useful and prominent. Final thought for Capricorn: in situations involving conflict, be careful not to judge a book by its cover.

Aquarius

February 6 is a peak day in your solar return month for Aquarius Sun. The qualities of your core conscious self can shine brightly at the beginning of the week. A sense of passion, congeniality, and razor-sharp purpose on February 6 accompany your basic qualities: uniqueness, humanitarianism, gregariousness, generator of ideas, and social participant in a wide variety of groups. The beginning of the week is strongest for Aquarius in terms of the various themes you experience over the course of the week. This is a double-edged sword; the greatest benefit might be attained from efforts made at the beginning of the week to form and maintain relationships, use the mind, and exert your personal power, but the benefits are also more difficult to achieve. Perhaps ironically, structure and authority is your independent Sun’s greatest ally this week in difficult times, and activities requiring discipline and organization flow relatively smoothly for Aquarius. Also look to relationships having a greater than average influence on February 11, which is also a favorable day for initiating new projects with other people. Final thought for Aquarius: in situations involving taking a chance, talking out possibilities with another person will likely be helpful.

Pisces

As transiting Sun enters the final decan of Aquarius, Pisces Sun can start to anticipate a pending solar return this week. Neptune’s long tenure in your Sun’s sign gives you more direct access to his imagination, spirit, and idealism, and the end of this week hints at Sun once again conjunct to the ethereal, powerful Neptune. Anticipation and premonitions, two of your strong suits, have potential for amazing effects this week when you concentrate on your specialty and work to develop your knowledge within it. “Empathic nurturing” is another relatively new and strengthening theme for Pisces this week. This new theme works especially well in close relationships, which continue to flow smoothly and provide a sense of helping you develop your power and prompt change in both yourself and those nearest to you via close relationships. If authority and structure feel a bit heavy this week, bear in mind that applying diligent effort towards what you want or need not only appeases those in charge, hopefully, but also paradoxically creates conditions that allows your creativity and desire to touch spirit to flourish. Final thought for Pisces: arcane ideas can help you find the way out of the darkness this week.

Mercury finishes his station in mid-Capricorn at the beginning of this week, and resumes his sprint forward in Saturn’s sign. While the planets remain steadfast in the same signs throughout the week, with the exception of the Moon, of great interest, two cliques among the planets, points, and objects form with opportunities inherent for those who align well with their energies. The earthy signs have quite a representation with Jupiter and North Node exactly conjunct in the Virgo sign, and additionally three planets in Capricorn (Mercury, Pluto, and later in the week, Venus) forming trines to Jupiter and Moon’s Node. Pluto’s “structured power” characteristic in Capricorn, well suited for career and work activity, acts with Mercury, the planet of commerce, and Venus, the planet of cooperation. Thus teamwork and collaborative efforts in work are of emphasis this week, and magnified by a smooth connection to Jupiter. North Node continues to act as a reminder to anticipate the future and tenaciously pursue goals, particularly in work and other earthy endeavors.

Poseidon (Transneptunian), currently at 12 Scorpio, is rather active this week, with an impressive number of planets forming connections to him. Juno (asteroid lady) is exactly conjunct Poseidon at the beginning of the week, and the two remain conjunct for the duration of the week. Sun in Aquarius forms a tense square to Poseidon in the middle of the week, with Moon conjuncting Poseidon briefly and just after Sun-Poseidon form a square. Venus also forms an aspect to Poseidon on February 2. Spirituality, wisdom, insight, intense messages, and depth of clarity emerge as influential concepts, and also enter the realm of close relationships. Poseidon in tension with the airy Sun encourages working towards a conscious universal understanding via the mind and flashes of insight. Certainly, friendships and a feeling of harmony among individuals is also in the mix as both Sun in Aquarius, and Venus, aspecting Poseidon, repeat a similar theme.

The trine between Mars in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces loosens this week, and at the same time, the Jupiter-Saturn square tightens. Sun and Jupiter, enervated by sign, feel a bit stressed this week. Sun forms aspects to both Mars and Saturn by the end of the week, and Jupiter must hold his own in tension with Saturn, repeating his link to Jupiter by virtue of residing in Sagittarius. Sun and Jupiter, perhaps, contain the key to attaining success this week. Tending to practical details with a sense of cheer and uplifting aspiration, as well as aligning with like-minded people and using new ideas, are most helpful in accessing the qualities of the two groups of planets consorting this week.

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

Aries

Authority and structure lean on Aries Sun in a subtle manner for the first several days of the week. This can be of benefit, however, in providing clarity in murky situations or implementing practical solutions to problems in a creative manner. The Aquarius energy emanating from the Sun becomes more influential in the second half of the week for Aries, and given the effort, projects involving learning, using new ideas, consulting those in different areas, and technology can help you be successful this week. This week is also better than average for Aries to develop personal power, assert yourself through using ideas and stating what you want or need, and consider new perspectives in order to move your goals forward, particularly in career. Close relationships continue to be a strong, beneficial theme for Aries this week, and relationships in general begin to become more influential, again with an emphasis on career. Final thought for Aries: staying focused and committed to a goal or ideal can help you refresh part of your life this week.

Taurus

Venus, your Sun’s ruler, in an earthy sign, continues to work well for Taurus Sun this week. January 30 has strong potential for combining dreams or ideals with achieving a high level of accomplishment in your area of expertise. The first half of the week feels rather watery for Taurus. February 2 contains an elevated spiritual type theme, in which a combination of using imagination and dedicated study contributes to insight and realization of truth. Your busy and varied week builds up into a theme, strongest at the end of the week, of actively seeking perspectives, and using personal strength and power to obtain what you want or need. Your Taurus endurance and determination fit the energies of the week well. While disruptions or shocks might arise more often than average this week, a sense of being able to land on your feet and roll with the changes accompanies the potential volatility. Taurus has a nice opportunity this week to benefit from a theme of “expanding knowledge” when you find a way to resolve the tension of the airy Sun squaring your Sun by sign. Final thought for Taurus: in dealing with the unfamiliar, seek a person that you can relate to.

Gemini

Forging ahead independently, in order to attain what you want, is a strong theme for Gemini Sun at the start of the week. Transitions and navigating change also continues as a theme this week, which becomes somewhat less intense by the end of the week. Sun in an airy sign is generally beneficial for Gemini, and a flowing sense of optimism and increasing your influence among those with whom you interact helps to counter difficulties you might experience this week. The most productive day of the week for Gemini is probably February 2, and serves as a reminder that the entire week emphasizes accomplishment in career for you. Look to close relationships for a boost if you need it, on January 29 and 30. Relationships in general, particularly in career, become more influential as the week progresses. Final thought for Gemini: using your Gemini attributes of adaptability and keen thought help finesse controls this week.

Cancer

Cancer Sun flows well with the airy transiting Sun at the beginning of the week. Being social, enjoying relationships, and collaborating in order to solve problems, particularly in work and career, will likely keep you busy on January 29 and 30. True to Sun in the water bearer’s sign this month, the week also has a simultaneous watery influence on Cancer. January 31 is a more spiritual type day, with opportunities to attain a depth of understanding and potential to reach a large amount of people with your ideas. After a more intense middle part of the week, Cancer has a very upbeat, and perhaps more carefree and fun, end to the week. Watch especially for February 4 as a day of personal growth and working towards increasing your influence to achieve prosperity. Final thought for Cancer: Seeking enlightenment, a strong theme in the transits this week for Cancer involves a purging of something in your life in order to attain greater wisdom.

Leo

Transiting Sun opposite your Sun by sign has its opportunities for Leo Sun. Expressing your creativity and allowing your fiery light to shine brightly in group settings is one distinct possibility for Leo this week. Activity and even a bit of competition, combined with innovative ideas and contributing your unique talents as part of a team effort, moreover in a very determined, concentrated fashion, is an opportunity not to be missed this month. Given the effort, close relationships can be of benefit in helping you achieve what you want or need this week. The heavens are also portending a fair amount of work in store for Leo in order to achieve objectives, but the good news is that the rewards are usually commensurate with the efforts. If you stretch yourself a bit and remain open to new ideas and experiences, February 1 can be an enlightening day. Authority and responsibility feel a heavy for Leo around February 3, but utilizing your unique strengths, and seeking new sources of information, help you to navigate structure to your advantage. Final thought for Leo: taking on new projects can be invigorating, but be careful of taking on too much this week!

Virgo

Mercury bounds forward again this week, in Saturn’s earthy sign. The direct motion of Mercury, and his residence in an earth sign, perhaps affects Virgo Sun most of all of the signs. Mercury in Capricorn is not averse to attention to meticulous detail and carefully thinking through practical matters, both of which are beneficial to work and career. Consolidating your power base in career, through logical thinking and creating alliances, is certainly something for Virgo to consider this week before Mercury speeds into Uranus’ sign. Making organized efforts and showing leadership can be particularly effective for Virgo on February 2. A fair amount of disruptions or change in direction might also affect your week, but considering various possibilities and welcoming new methods of completing tasks (for example, with technology) will likely help you navigate the changes thrown your way. Final thought for Virgo: no additional insights for Virgo this week.

Libra

The week starts with the Moon in your Sun’s sign, giving Libra Sun an added boost from a planet in an air element, in addition to Sun in Aquarius. You might enjoy some extra time alone to read or otherwise exercise your mind during the first few days of the week, or conversely, you might prefer to socialize and participate in gatherings to kick off your week. The entire week has a rather intellectual type flavor to it for Libra, an opportunity not to be missed. While seeking solutions to difficult problems is a great deal of work, the opportunity for breakthroughs is also present – very apropos with Sun in Aquarius. Gathering knowledge in order to seek truth, and using theory to solve problems, works best for Libra on February 2. An organized, disciplined (and perhaps collaborative) approach to solving problems starts the process, and independent breakthroughs can help bring about solutions. The entire week does not have to be about serious study and nothing but work…the week might contain a decent amount of enjoyment for you, especially towards the end, and even trivial activities with those in close relationships can lead to a sense of fun and togetherness. Final thought for Libra: if you are given additional authority or leeway by someone this week, are you up to the challenge?

Scorpio

Drive and determination characterize the week for Scorpio Sun. The fixed resolve to attain what you seek has persistent support from the mind. Use of logic, and drawing from proven ideas or intellectual concepts, are of greater use for Scorpio this week in obtaining what you want from career or other endeavors. Close relationships also begin to exert greater than average influence on Scorpio this week, and relationships in general become more influential as the week progresses. Dedicated personal efforts, in the context of humanitarian or group-centered intentions, also help you realize advantages this week. You have your fair share of demands this week, but also bear in mind that a more pleasant theme of material expansion and abundance is in the background for Scorpio as well. Thus finding a balance between work and play can be of benefit this week. Final thought for Scorpio: even with Mercury direct, you may find that success is only attained through “repeating” actions until everything is in place.

Sagittarius

Saturn transiting in the middle of your Sun’s sign, and squaring your Sun’s ruler, draws attention to the “controlled expansion” theme in the heavens for Sagittarius Sun. The earthy theme in the transits draw sattention to how to do so via work and career, and the watery theme, and Sun in Aquarius, suggest that intuiting a path to follow is an accompanies the other themes. The importance of considering future direction and meeting one’s destiny is prominent for Sagittarius this week. Seeking various perspectives, especially through career, and considering how to use your base of power, and increase it, in order to expand your interests within set parameters, can be of great use for you all week. Logical ideas and communicating with authoritative people might also be of assistance in reaching more lofty “big picture” type goals, as well as in meeting daily obligations this week. Also, consider how networking and seeking support – or giving it – in various relationships might help you achieve your goals, especially around the end of the week. Final thought for Sagittarius: giving extra attention to detail this week helps prevent extra work.

Capricorn

Obtaining what you desire, despite the difficulties, is a poignant theme that starts the week for Capricorn Sun. A subtle, but added amount, of intense personal drive from January 29 to 31 can be used to your benefit. Likewise, relationships have a subtle but perhaps beneficial influence for Capricorn on February 3 and 4. The significant representation of planets in the earth signs, and Aquarius Sun exuding a Saturnine influence, works well for Capricorn this week. Expanding your power base, forming alliances, and developing the mind help create greater opportunities for you in career or other areas of life this week. The outer planets are rather influential for Capricorn these days, and with Sun in Aquarius, Uranus is particularly influential. Therefore, the learning theme already affecting you is of greater influence. Finding innovative methods to accomplish goals, along with implementing your Capricorn ambition and inclination to use and mold structure, is a leading theme for you this week. Also consider how hard work combined with using imaginative qualities can help what you want in life materialize, a lingering but slowly fading theme for you. Final thought for Capricorn: a tantalizing theme for Capricorn to consider this week is expanding your limits. Even if you can’t do something now, can you find a way to make it possible?

Aquarius

As your solar return month continues, Moon starts the week forming a nice trine to Aquarius Sun. The luminaries emphasize intellect and the social part of life, giving Aquarius a boost at the beginning of the week. Moon forming a harmonious link to Sun in your sign on January 29 also demands consideration of the value of balancing with individuals, in order to merge with a group. Or, stated differently, groups are certainly fashioned from unique individuals. The crowd definitely needs contributions from each member, perhaps a useful way to look at the week ahead, with almost half of the planets in earth signs. The earthy element is prominent for Aquarius this week, and provides a necessary base or sense of groundedness, but not in an obtrusive manner. This gives a nice feel of a freedom to act, but with the support of established systems and access to assistance if you need it. Use of the mind is a boon for you again this week, and taking advantage of sharp communication, the value of using logic, and learning in order to assimilate new ideas or further understanding of familiar ones is something not to be missed (and it requires demanding work this week, but can be very much worth the effort). Socializing and collaboration is another useful theme for Aquarius, a theme that takes effect on January 31. As the week draws to a close, the relationships theme requires more work, but again, the rewards also tend to match the efforts made. Final thought for Aquarius: risks can help you move ahead this week, but careful judgment is also called for. Informally consulting someone willing to listen to your ideas might also be wise.

Pisces

The earthy theme in the transits appears to affect Pisces Sun more significantly than the watery theme. This somewhat unexpected and perhaps ironic result can be put to good use by your watery Sun, however. A theme of showing leadership, rising to the occasion, implementing controls, responding to authority and structure, and dealing with powerful people, especially in the upper echelons of an organization, suggests a busy week for Pisces. Without doubt, the watery element has its place within this earthy theme for you. Anticipating the actions of others, intuiting trends, and flowing well with changes and acclimating to adjustments are also potentially productive in navigating this week, particularly in work and career. Both close relationships, and relationships in general, can be valuable sources of support for Pisces this week, more so in the first half of it. Another theme emerges for Pisces this week: providing care and sustenance to other people, and with Sun in Aquarius, finding support, or providing it, through spiritual community is another prominent theme. Final thought for Pisces: Aquarius Sun blends well with Pisces this week. Friendliness and cooperative efforts can help move you along this week.
